3 day labor

First time mother. Over the past three days, she has had 5 kits. One was in the nesting box but nowhere near the nest. It was cold but we were able to save it by putting it in with another litter that had just kindled. That was the first kit. The next morning there were two in the grass of the pen. Last night, another in the grass. This morning, one more. I checked her and palpated her. She didn't have any kits stuck and I don't think she has any more in her.

Any idea what is happening? First time bad luck? She's about 9 months old and this is her first litter.

My 1 yr old Holland doe did that with her first litter as well. It took her 3 days to have 7 kits. Next litter she had 5 over 2 days (all stillborn of course) and then on her third try she had 3 live ones all within a few minutes. She's due with litter number 4 on the 17th of this month and I'm anxious to see how she does. I'd say it's just due to her being a first timer.
