Yes, the fairy has been overly zealous at my rabbitry in the past half year. Her magic resulted in a litter of 13 born on the ground last October. If you know what the weather is like up here you will be shivering in sympathy.
On Thursday I tried a breeding with my Sallander doe and my Harlequin buck. Well! I had never seen such a reaction to putting two rabbits together. It was like the cartoon of the Tasmanian Devil. Fur was flying! What the heck?
I hauled her out and had a look at him. Only he wasn't a him! He was a she! I haven't had this much trouble with sexing rabbits in years. Sigh.
Fortunately I had another male to use and the two are happily copulating as we speak.
