Do your rabbits like being up high?

My latest kits when they escape the cages can be found on top of the stairs. Don't know if they just like the height or if it's just easier for them to climb instead of hopping down. My rabbits in multi-level cages often rest on the top self.

How much do your rabbits like hay?

I feed mostly pellets and not much hay. My rabbits will eat pellets out of my hand but not hay. However I currently have 2 litters about a month old and they seem to like hay over pellets. They go for hay even when there's pellets available. Could it be because I introduced them to hay as...

What does your pet rabbit cost you a year?

I found this article using google. "What are some things nobody tells you about owning a rabbit? Rabbits are Expensive" It's funny.

Several of my favorite rabbits died in the past few months.

They were around 7 or 8 y.o. which is on the short end of life expectancy. They were the ones I tend to handle, pet, and hug the most because they enjoy interacting with me.

Some rabbits more comfortable staying in their cages.

I have a group cage with 4 French Angora does. I open the door around noon and 2 would jump out within a minute. The other 2 don't leave even though the door is opened. Around 3pm I call the bunnies for feeding and the 2 does would come and jump in the cage to get at the pellets. I then...

Do you treat your bites and scratches?

Usually my scratches rarely draw blood. If it bleeds I just put pressure on it with a paper towel. Bites on the other hand often bleeds. I use the paper towel till the bleeding stops and often don't use a bandage unless it keeps bleeding. Most bites are accidents when my rabbits are hungry...

    Do you use compressed hay?

A small 2 string bale of local hay is $10. Standlee Grab & Go Timothy Grass Compressed Bale is $21.50. I'm trying to decide if it's worth paying twice as much for western hay and the convenience.

Is it Black Friday or January White Sales?

I'm looking for first hand experiences in keeping raccoons away.

Many ideas are found using google but which ones really work? Were they attracted to your rabbits or was there something else? Some of my free range rabbits were killed. Some in cages were stressed by coons. However since my neighbors started having barking dogs I think coons may be coming...

I didn't know there were so many ways to fry an egg.

https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2012/nov/08/how-to-cook-the-perfect-fried-egg I prefer cooking it on high heat to get crispy white any runny yoke.

I had to get up and pee all night.

Apparently the chicken stew for dinner had some powerful diuretics. I googled onion, celery, carrots, garlic and found they were all diuretics. The combination probably made them more effective.

    Strange places for earth worms.

I regularly find earth worms in rabbit's water bowls. That means they have to craw up dry steel cages. Today I found 3 worms in a head of cabbage that I left on top of a cage 5 feet high. I'm amazed that they can sense what they need and can craw to it.

Do you put rabbits to sleep when they reach old age

or do you just let them die naturally to find them dead one day? This is assuming they don't have any problems other than old age.

My peanut lionhead died this morning after 3 1/2 months of life.

It was blind and lame at birth. Usually peanuts die few days after birth. I think they usually starve because they get pushed out of the way by healthy kits during feeding. I let it nurse alone before the other kits. It had a good appetite and after it started on solid food it was able to...
