Doe nest building 12 days early?

3 weeks old! It's crazy how they all the sudden started jumping out of their nest box, eating hay, pellets and munching on mom's greens!

Doe nest building 12 days early?

From KWCages We have our bunnies in cages under a covered roof so they haven't been rained on. They do look very solid and sturdy as well as waterproof though. The website says they are rust resistant. The only think I don't like about them is that our bunnies can't really sit on top of them...

Doe nest building 12 days early?

Thanks! They are a week old now. Most of them are chunky monkeys. Just a few are smaller than the rest. I make sure the mamas nurse those in the morning. Such sweet moms and babies! (we still have freezing temps at night but the mamas pulled plenty of fur and keeping those babies warm) I'll...

Doe nest building 12 days early?

They both kindled on day 31. Fur pulling started approximately 1 hour before each gave birth. My girls like to prep early with the hay and prep at the last minute with the fur!

Doe nest building 12 days early?

UPDATE! Both of my first time does kindled this morning 31 days after breeding. They both had 8 kits each. One of the does gave birth to 2 on the wire and I put them back in the nest with the others. One kit was inside the same nest box but not with the others. It didn't make it. 😢 All the...

Doe nest building 12 days early?

I haven't seen any fur in the cage nor any fur pulling yet. The nesting activity has subsided and both does are back to just chillin' out in their cages. When they were haystashing, they didn't want anything to do with me. One doe even charged my hand with her front paws with a mouth full of...

Doe nest building 12 days early?

Today her sister is doing the same behavior! Haystashing! And the one that built her nest yesterday is relaxing... like stretched out completely relaxed. She completely filled her hidy box with hay and straw!

Doe nest building 12 days early?

I guess we'll see if they kindle on or around the 7th of April!

Doe nest building 12 days early?

I bred my two silver fox does (sisters) on March 7th. It was their first breeding. They are in hanging cages next to each other. Today I noticed that one of the does is nest building. She's taking the straw and hay and putting it in her hidy house. I don't have a nesting box in their cages yet...

    Greetings from North Central Idaho

I got the bucks from two different people in North Idaho and the does from the southern part of the state. :)

I'm in Idaho County not too far from Grangeville. Silver Fox is my only breed. I really like their sweet dispositions. I'm new at this (almost a year) so don't have experience with any other breeds. I'd be willing to travel 3-5 hours for the right SF doe.

Hi Coleen and thank you for the kind welcome message. I have 3 SF bucks and 2 SF does. I was supposed to have a trio (1 buck and 2 does) but it didn't work out that way (breeder sexing mistake...ugh...and now we are all attached to the boys). At any rate, looking to get another SF...

I think Council is a little over 2 hours south of me. I'm looking to add another silver fox doe to my rabbitry if you know of any.

Here's a recent photo of one of my silver fox bucks. His name is Huey and he's almost a year old. He's the sweetest rabbit!

    Greetings from North Central Idaho

Hello! I started raising silver fox rabbits in the early Summer of 2022. So much to learn but enjoying the journey each day. They are such sweet and loving creatures! Hopefully this Spring I will have a bunch of bunnies from my two does. They are almost 8 months old and a little over 8 pounds...
