Selling my 6-class buns, looking for 4-class. Tips?

6-class and 4-class is the class the breed is shown in, I use it to describe sizes. New Zealand's are a 6-class, Senior doe and buck, intermediate doe and buck and junior doe and buck. Mini rexes are 4-class, senior doe and buck and junior doe and buck.

Selling my 6-class buns, looking for 4-class. Tips?

It's been a while :) How is everyone? So, I, unfortunately, have to sell my NZs. But I don't want to leave the rabbit world. While I am not looking for breeding rabbits, I would appreciate some breed suggestions. I was thinking a dwarf, satin, mini rex, angora or something else along those...

    Attention Sheep Breeders

Hey! I go by Horse, You've probably seen me around, but I come to you fellow sheep breeders with a question; what's the deepest bond you have ever had with a bottle baby? I had two this year and the little ewes wouldn't stop following me around and would scream (Not bleat, scream) for me if I...

My crazy sheep idea- All the animal crazy, all the time!

I breed a half and half herd, half wool half hair breeds. My hairs are Dorper, American Blackbelly and my ram this year is Katdahin. And my wools are a flurry of breeds. If you get super into your meat ewes I suggest looking into American or Barbados Blackbellys, They are a pasture ornament and...

    Bunny Snuffles

NZ doe has a dark matting on the inside of her front paws and a wet nose. I just moved her into my room and wanted to breed her next week. Is it serious? I can post photos if that'll help. Should I hold off until this passes? I have a Vet that specializes in Rabbits in my area, would that...

    Front leg injury

Yes, boards or carpets should prevent sore hocks, and about the vet wrap, it's your choice, some owners (of all species) despise vet wrap but it's my best friend, I use it to keep polysporin on wounds, to keep dirt out, to support a sprained or pulled muscle, and many many other things. It...

    Rabbit poop cover scent

That would make sense, it's a natural scent cover-up, but If its from a domestic rabbit, would the deer sense the difference in diets? I don't know I don't hunt, I will get my license in the future though!

Hope y'all have a great New Year!

    Hutch build idea

1/4 is what I use for my outdoor hutches, the replaceable floor is smart due to wear caused by urine and constant pressure. If you go with a wire floor, it's important to have an area where the rabbit can get off the wire, I gave a 12x12 piece of OSB to my buns, that's where they sleep now.

    Thinking outloud, wanting feedback

Rain, plus cold temperatures and wind, Did the doe have a different hide other than her nestbox? I don't know a lot but the rain+cold temps+wind sets off red flags for hypothermia. That's just my thoughts, was it below freezing causing her -possibly- wet pelt to freeze?? ending in her death...

    Hutch build idea

I agree with Micheals 4 Gardens, 1-inch wire as flooring could be very very bad for your animals' feet. I would suggest 1/4 inch hardware cloth, in Alberta, it's cheap and doesn't wear easily. 1/2 would work as well, but as for walls and roofing, I have found 1x2 and 1/2x2 grids work just fine...

    Pine Shavings for Bedding??

I want to use pine shavings in the tray and the base of both of my current set-ups. It's super absorbent and would be odour reducing. But is pine safe? i found an article that said yes and another that said no. I just need real responses from real bunny owners. Thanks all!!

    *UPDATE* Pregnancy Confusion

When I bought my Rabbits they were bonded, They live in separate hutches now, but get playdates when my doe is 2-3 weeks pregnant. I don't risk 4 weeks because does can be bred while pregnant. Playdates -I've found- are fine during the middle of pregnancy. Although every doe and buck are...

    White ear gene?

I have zero idea. Ask me about probability of a white bison calving a white bison, or ask me about dogs' colour genetics. Rabbits though, I know nothing.

The great chin debate? What color is he?

Im not sure... The first thing I would say is sable, but I don't think that makes sense due to the darker undercoat. It's a beautiful bunny though :D

    Anyone using Angoras for meat?

I agree with Zass, you could also say a NZ or Flemish Giant is calm as well. Angoras (what I know about them, I own and know most about 6 class breeds) Are smaller and have lots of wool, making their live weight seem much much higher than their processed weight -sale weight- It's much more...

    Californian for fur?

I agree with Micheaels4gardens, For fur rabbits, Calis are a poorer choice. Great Meat though!

Do wild rabbits change color or is this rabbit a pet?

where are you located? In Canada, our hares change colour with the seasons, White for snow, Brown for bush.

I need help about a serious topic

Basically, I was watching a Soda Pets video, Featured in the video was hundreds of baby bunnies being mistreated, but that does not matter for the story. Sorry if the photo is too small, I can include better screenshots if it is. but I sum it up, these are all replies to a comment saying...
