When can kits find a new home & transportation question

Thanks! I was wondering if it had to do with the greens, they are piggy little guys! I'll give them some oats today. :)

When can kits find a new home & transportation question

Mom is a lionhead and dad is a lionhead cross I think. He has a small mane and some of the babies had the V shape fur when born so I'm assuming he needs to have some lionhead in him to get the double maned kits? They have been eating pellets since they could leave the nest box (about 2 weeks)...

When can kits find a new home & transportation question

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, that it would be too stressful. I can wait til they are 8 weeks to find them homes. When do I need to separate them from each other and the doe to prevent more bunnies?

When can kits find a new home & transportation question

My surprise litter will be 6 weeks on Monday and I am wondering when it is in their best interest to find homes. Right now they are still nursing and live with mom. I heard they need to stay for 8 weeks to get the benefits of eating their mom's poops (sorry for the non technical terms, I know...

When to provide pellets, water, and remove nest box?

Thanks, I will pick some up next time I go to the store. Today I noticed a couple of the babies have some poop clumped on their bottoms. I cleaned them up, but should they be separated? Maybe they ate too much kale and spinach? They are acting normally, running around and eating a lot.
<br...

I'm back ... c: With questions of course.

Thanks so much for the tip! The feline pine is expensive, so I'm glad to find an alternative.

    My fodder setup

So do you just soak seeds and it grows? (I know just as little about growing things as I do about rabbits, lol.)

When to provide pellets, water, and remove nest box?

Mine were born the 13th, so yes, same age! They are so adorable! Mine rush to eat the greens, too. They are starting to run away if I try to pick them up. (Maybe too much torture taking bunny Santa pictures?) A couple don't seem to mind being scooped up and snuggled at all. They figured out how...

I'm back ... c: With questions of course.

Hi, I'm super new to rabbits, I just got mine in July and already have an unexpected litter. I did neuter my boy, and he has stopped spraying. I currently have him, the mom and 5 babies living in my bedroom, because I don't trust my dogs enough to keep them elsewhere in the house. At first I...

    Can't decide on rabbitry name...

I like Smoking Buns. I think it's catchy and people like puns. It's also easy to remember and spell, so if you were going to have a website people could find it easily. It's also funny, even to me as a pet buns owner. The thought of meat rabbits turns my stomach but the name is super catchy...

When to provide pellets, water, and remove nest box?

I hope I don't have any more surprises, although this has been one of the best accidents I've experienced. I like that idea, because the cage as it is now doesn't have a good place for mom to escape from them. She does get time outside of her cage, but I keep her in the cage with the kits at...

    Christmas Bunny Pictures

I cheated and used a tiny piece of scotch tape! They were still small and sleepy last week when I took photos, but I don't think I could get hats on them now that they are ready to explore. :bunnyhop:

When to provide pellets, water, and remove nest box?

These guys are living in my house. I ended up giving them a small dog bed and taking the box out since it was getting gross. I can't believe how quickly they grew and started eating on their own!

-- Thu Dec 07, 2017 8:04 pm --

Mine are indoors, so I ended up removing...

    Christmas Bunny Pictures

So cute! I love the wreath! I thought I was the only one patient enough to be taking bunny Christmas photos! Here's one of mine:

Can a doe get pregnant while pregnant?

I'm glad to find out this is a myth! The vet that did his neuter has agreed to do her spay at no charge, since the vet tech placed them together resulting in this litter 31 days later. I plan to take her in after the kits are 8 weeks and should be off to new homes (I hope).

Can a doe get pregnant while pregnant?

I found this out the hard way, but I have learned a lot, so far. I am enjoying them, and am obsessed with the babies... They are adorable! I guess I'm a little mad at myself because I would never purchase a dog from a pet store, but for some reason I thought it was OK to get rabbits there. The...

    The Haystache thread!!

Here is Gadget the night before her kits arrived. She was not very happy that I wouldn't let her continue to drag hay under my dresser.

Can a doe get pregnant while pregnant?

I am a rabbit newbie. I wish I had chosen a more knowledgeable vet that had warned me against this. Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since his neuter. Do you think it is safe now? Hopefully the digging is nothing. I separated them when I saw her building a nest, and they were separated after her litter...

Can a doe get pregnant while pregnant?

So, he would have been neutered for 4 weeks by the time she had the current litter. Could she have conceived again while pregnant during the third week after his neuter? I'll definitely keep you posted if she has another litter.

Can a doe get pregnant while pregnant?

I have noticed my doe digging ferociously under my dresser. The first time she did this she had a stillborn litter the next week. The second time she had the kits who are now 17 days old today a week later. Could she be pregnant again?! The male was neutered on October 13th, she got pregnant...
