Pellet Change Advice

I've been trying for about a month to slowly change my rabbits pellets from Small Pet Select to Oxbow Essentials. He just picks out the Small Pet Pellets and leaves the Oxbow. He's eating fine otherwise, just being fussy. Does anyone have any advice?

    Moving a Bun for Winter

I hope this is the right place for this... for those of you who move your outdoor rabbits for winter, do you move them cage and all? Would it upset a rabbit to be moved to new 'digs' for the winter? I have a rabbit in an outdoor hutch that I'd like to move to an enclosed porch for winter. The...

    Maples?

I know rabbits can have the leaves and branches of Sugar Maple-acer saccharum but does anyone know if they can have leaves and branches of Striped (or Goosefoot) Maple-acer pensylvanicum and Red Maple-acer rubrum?

    Should I Be Worried?

My 3 yr old bun Roo started yesterday to hold up his right front paw. There's no other signs of injury. No sores, blood or swelling. He'll put weight on it, maybe limping a tiny bit but not sure as it's not really obvious. I let him out in his run today and he hopped around but didn't dig at...

    A Little Advice About Poop?

So, for the past week or two Roo seems to be pooping less and they are a bit smaller. I was starting to switch his food (slowly) so I thought that was it and started to switch him back (again very slowly). He's eating fine, acting like his usual goofy self :bunnyhop: and he IS pooping, just...

    Bunny 'Playpen' Advice

I have a single (very spoiled :) ) pet rabbit and I'd like to build him an outdoor exercise yard. He would only be out in nice weather, during the day and he would be supervised. If he was left unsupervised it would only be for 5-10 mins max at a time, after I got used to him being out there...

    Romaine Lettuce

Wasn't quiet sure where to put this... sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was wondering what everyone thinks of the CDC telling everyone to throw out their Romaine lettuce. I only have one rabbit and I give him Romaine in the winter, along with some other things. The article says it lettuce...

    Burrowing

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, I wasn't sure where to put it. Roo will make himself a little nest in the hay and snuggle in but he doesn't seem to want to cover his ears. Do all rabbits burrow in their hay when it's very cold? Should I worry about his ears? What do...

    Winterizing

This is the hutch I built for my niece's rabbit: I live in Vermont so winters temps can be anywhere from 60F(or more) to -10F on any given day. We can have rain, sleet, ice, and/or snow, sometimes all 4 at the same time. He will get sun if there is any. He's spent all of his life outside but...

    Fitting 'Tarnish'?

I bought a heated water bottle for my outdoor rabbit for this winter. The spout seems to be made from brass, or at least a brass colored metal. The part of the fitting that sits inside the bottle, that sits in the water, is turning black after just a couple days. Is this dangerous for the...

    Tiny Poo

I hope this is in the right place... I found these tiny poops in my rabbits hutch today, they were under where he likes to take his afternoon nap. Should I be worried? Sorry it's a bit blurry I did the best I could...

-- Thu Aug 31, 2017 6:17 pm --

Maybe this is a...

    Hay

Ok, this is actually 2 questions and one of them isn't entirely about eating (and may be kinda dumb) but here goes: 1. I want to use hay for my outdoor bunny's hutch (bedding/litter). I want to get a bale from a local farm (never done this before), do I have to worry about there maybe being...

    New Bunny Grunting

Hi, I have just started taking care of my niece's rabbit. When I go out to his hutch he runs back and forth and grunts. I read online that grunting was a sign of aggression but he stops once I open the door and pet or feed him. Could he just be frustrated? Like "Hurry, hurry feed me now!!!!!"?

    Advice for a newbie?

So my niece brought her rabbit yesterday. He seems to be settled in pretty well but I have a couple concerns. The first is that he hasn't eaten any hay. They were feeding him nothing but pellets with these colorful crunchy things in it. He loves those, of course!! If I start cutting him back on...

    Rabbit Safe Hutch Paint

Hi Everyone! I'm hoping to get a little help from some of the knowledgeable people on here. First a little background- I'm going to be 'taking in' my niece's rabbit soon. He was staying with the couple she roomed with while in school but now they've gotten a rabbit of their own and want to just...
