That's really interesting and it has additional links at the bottom. Thanks for the information!

    Manure question...

We usually have about 120 thousand chickens but they are for a processor and so we can't have any other birds at all out here. They come as biddies and leave in about 61 to 63 days. So can't give it to them. So your saying I can't put that stuff in my compost pile then?

    Manure question...

Yeah! Can't wait to see what shows up then. Maybe I'll just do a small enclosed kinda worm bed to keep for fishing worms and then have a regular compost pile for the worms to show up in. Another compost/manure question. I keep reading that you don't want to put any kind of meat in your...

    Breeding question...

OH MY! I can't wait to see what kind of hilarious things my bucks come up with over the years. If you video it, does that make it bunny porn? Oh, that's just wrong!!! No cameras as the bunny huts during their "special time"! Gotta get the hubby to building the huts. He's got jury duty...

    Breeding question...

I just LOL and the whole family wanted to know why. Course my husband got a kick out of that too! Hilarious...I so can't wait to get my rabbits!

    Breeding question...

I admit it's been a LONG time since I've watch a doe get bred, so please understand that I have the most hilarious mini movie playing in my head of a buck falling over with all 4 feet in the air like he's dead. Don't know why that's what popped in my head, but everytime I read about the buck...

    Information link

I found this link and emailed the moderator. She said to post it here and in the Rabbit links section. You have to get to page 55 to get to the actual "rabbit" section but the other information might prove to be useful to ome as well. Here goes: http://isampa.org/Full%20packet%20for%203-29-08.pdf

    rabbit rawhide blanket

I don't even have rabbits yet, nor do I know how to tan and I can't wait to have the hides tanned and make me my very own snuggly rabbit quilt. I have a old fur coat my kids fight over. It's still in excellent shape and not real fur. The boys would look like a pimp if they wore it, but it's...

    Breeding question...

Wow, I never knew that! Like I said, new to rabbits so very good information to know and it's been in nothing I've read so far. So with that being said, how many times in a span of what I would think of no more than 3 days would you attempt a breeding before saying ok, time to wait and see?

    Breeding question...

Really? a double pregnancy? Wow, never heard of that! I'll have to check into that one and get more information. Interesting, thanks for the answer.

    Manure question...

Around here the soil has been depleted and it's so sandy. I just want to help it all I can. I plan to have a closed bottom compost pile so that I can control the worm population, sell them and use them for fishing and adding to my garden.

Thanks. I did, just found this first while lurking and couldn't help myself. :)

    Breeding question...

They say the same things about people, doesn't hold water there either! Seems to me that the more opportunities that she has to get bred the more likely she is bred. Out of curiosity, ignorance and inexperience here....if someone thinks that the doe really didn't get bred why would they wait...

    Manure question...

Guttering the rabbit poop and urine, that sounds like an interesting idea. Got pics? As far as the manure and urine. I'm planning on putting a compost pile together where I will start out with some chicken litter from the huge poultry houses and then add anything the rabbits can't eat plus...

    rabbit rawhide blanket

OH! So your going to make a complete individual square and then sew the squares together, so that once the squares are together the whole thing is done? Did I understand that right?

I'm planning on making a quilt once we are up and running. It will be fur on one side with a liner and I'll most likely use a sheet as a backing for the whole thing. I think the fryers will be strong enough for that. Anyone disagree?

We are near Fayetteville and are just getting into rabbits. We are in the process of building hutches and looking for breeding stock. Wondering who might be around the area. Glad to have found this forum.
