Depends a lot on your local laws. It's illegal to sell privately processed (vs govt processed/inspected) meat and even labelling Not For Human Consumption can still land you in hot water here in BC. I'd check your local laws about it first. So sense losing everything to sell a few carcasses :(

The dam is lynx. Upon consulting the breeder who owns her sire, we see that the grandsire is Lynx and her dam carries agouti and chocolate so it's not a stretch. After comparing photos and asking a friend who currently breeds lynx, we have confirmation. I don't see how it's a black tort when...

So a revelation hit and we are convinced the dam is a broken lynx. Paired with a chin who carries choc I'm guessing the baby is choc sable agouti :)

I have a doe getting a nest box next Friday (day 28), haystaching and pulling fur now. That's what she does, she is always a Girl Scout ;)

We have this little fat toad of a holland. Singleton and spoiled. Dam is lilac tri I think, sire is supposed to be frosty but he looks more chin. As a newborn we thought black tort. Then with the start of fur we thought Siamese sable. But now it feels like agouti because of the orangish neck...

Why would you sell her for meat and not just cull her? As a meat rabbit buyer there's no way I'd buy a blind rabbit regardless of how the breeder said it happened. Blindness is a side effect of pasteurella and I wouldn't want tainted meat for my family or for the dog.

Yep, I got that. What I'm saying is that based on what I've seen come out of mt rabbitry over the years, lilac has never been cocoa hence my continued questions.

I realize that. My lilac doe is much more purple grey than light cocoa.

So the cocoa coloured pair can't be sable or chocolate but they seem too brown for lilac? :shock:

Well shaded has to be possible because there was a very clear tort....

There was a tort, the tiniest one but that one died.... As for the others, they are solid color, no white tummies and no "racing stripes" aka shaded skirts.

Same friend has another litter of mysterious hollands.... Dam is blue tort, sire is blue. And we have some light cocoa kits that make me want to say chocolate but they are so light....but not grey enough for lilac. :/?

Helping a friend identify colors in her first bew litter. Buck is a bew (no ped) and the doe is orange. So we have one all white (waiting on the eyes to see what color we get)--but the mysterious ones are: 2 lightly shaded (you can just barely see the shaded skirt on them) and then 2 darker...

I think the question is at what age does eye color become apparent? I am fostering two of the posters kits and we were curious, now that eyes are open, at what age is rew eye or bew eye apparent? Currently they are still squinting a lot so I think all we see is pupil and it's tough to tell...
