Entire Litter of 4 week old kits impacted?

When I had Hollands, they pretty much always did this. What I would do is VERY CAREFULLY cut the hunk out, and make sure to trim any nearby unaffected fur to prevent it from happening again.

I Got Cheated in a Stud Breeding: Help?

Personally, I would take the pick of the litter, consider it a lesson learned, and put everything in writing in the future. For me, it wouldn't be worth the bad blood between relatives. After all, it isn't like you are out something. In the dog world, typical stud fee is either a $ amount or...

    Virgin Doe + Virgin Buck

Double check that it's a buck and a doe. Last time I had them acting like that, I had 2 does...

Doe was due 1/5-1/7 no kits

Palate her belly, feeling for lumpy things, not just size. If no lumps, go ahead and rebreed. If you just missed kits, she will possibly take great offense to the buck's desires, or it could stimulate her to hurry up and have them. If her belly is lumpy, I'd wait it out a couple more days.

UPDATE Converting dog crate to rabbit cage *advice needed*

Doesn't really answer your questions, but you could add 1/2" hardware cloth to the sides to prevent chewing. Some may disagree, but the size should work for a while, my 10# New Zealand does did fine kindling and raising young in that size. Up to 10 kits until weaning at 6 weeks old. Not totally...

What colors are these rabbits? New Zealand

Maybe try taking the pics outside in natural light. The house lighting is making it very difficult.

    Trying to decide the color

    Definitely looking sable chinchilla now.

How do you feel about salt licks?

I don't give any. I did at one time years ago, but I live in Florida, land of humidity, and would find water literally dripping from them. This was starting to do a number on the wire, so I quit. It wasn't like they were using them anyway.

How is this a bad cage?

Pretty much everything that has already been said, but some people think that wire is just wrong. However, I read about an experiment where they had large group pens and had half of each wire and solid. The rabbits spent significantly more time on the wire half. But I do agree that it is good to...

    Weird sores on our dog...

Not sure what it is, but her being half herding dog, be careful with the ivomec, she is higher risk. If you do use the ivomec, start with an extremely small dose, increasing daily until up to a full dose. If you notice any neurological symptoms, stop the ivomec immediately.

Florida White, am I dealing with a breed issue?

I know this post is kinda old, but I have had a litter of 4 with 2 big and 2 small, alive, Florida White. The name of your doe and your location piqued my interest, as mine have a relative (aunt) named pickles. I am in North Florida, mine came from central florida.

    Third time she's absorbed...

How do you know she absorbed? She may have just had the 2 that time, and she might not have "taken". Make sure she isn't fat, internal fat can cause them to not get pregnant. And they can have false pregnancies.

    Baby bunnies with coccidia parasites

I don't know the answer as to when to treat, but I would look to preventing future infection. How are your rabbits housed? On the ground, solid bottom, wire, partially solid, etc.

    Breeding mini lop with....

Where in Florida are you? Tallahassee area by any chance? I've got Florida Whites and New Zealands. Also currently have a Holland Lop doe bred to my Florida White buck, lol.

    Swollen vulva

I would try trimming back the fur while treating to make sure it's not a version of urine scald. Along those lines as well, I would wonder about the possibility of a urinary tract infection that is causing her to dribble. Maybe attempt to collect some urine if you are thinking to try going to...

Where can you get rabbit carrier dividers (cheap)?

Not removable, but my double carriers have a double layer of wire with a 2 inch gap. Stuff it with hay, and you have a solid divider and hay feeder all in one. I can't take credit for the idea, but I like it and it's cheap.

Do all Fuzzy Lops have messy poo?

My experience with Holland Lops (basically the same) is that they are sensitive to protein levels. 16% is the max I give in the pellets, I prefer 15%. I generally give lots of hay. While coastal hay is generally considered to be around 12% protein, some of the fields around here have tested out...

    Pet quality vs Show/Brood quality

The easy answer is to wait until the kits are older if you are hoping to keep a show prospect. I didn't decide on potential keepers until about 6 weeks. I didn't advertise until I had done my picking. If someone puts a deposit on a particular bunny, I have committed to selling them that bunny, I...

4 week old Holland kit, swollen vent

I have found with my hollands that occasionally the little ones get matted bottoms while transitioning. The poop/urine irritates their little bottoms, which get swollen. All I do is clean them up, and keep them clean, and the swelling goes away. And, yes, it stinks. The cause seems to be the...
