What fabric does Angora fluff not stick to?

Me too. I actually wear flannel pants to achieve good traction. Then when I'm done, I just brush myself with a cat brush, and sometimes the retired veggie scrubbers end up in the barn. I use those as well. T-shirts seem to work on top. I brush them too.

    A very odd colour

Looks like my sallanders. This one may blue. It's lighter than mine but mine are also intensified satins. Sallander is a self chin plus non extension (ee).

Do you put rabbits to sleep when they reach old age

Most of my elderly rabbits have been euthanized due to pain and suffering. I have had one drop dead but she was just over three so I wasn't expecting problems from her. So yeah I think I'd let them die naturally if they would. So far that seems to be a very rare occurrence.

Bunny suddenly unable to walk, help!

I am guessing fendbendazole was recommended because it could be EC. Penicillin seems unnecessary. EC can manifest in hind end neurological problems but honestly your rabbit seems to be missing some other important symptoms for EC. Sounds more like a spinal issue. However, fendbendazole won't...

Grow out cage for 5wk old kits

What I do to protect young guts, is to feed mama what I want to feed the kits. That way when she drops off her cecotropes for them and seeds thier gut flora with hers, they can eat whatever she's eating. I am weaning kits right now onto garden lettuces and greens since thier mom has been eating...

Super Aggressive all of a sudden, need help

Goodness! I'm the well.seasoned rabbit person. Its been ages since ive been here. This buck is dong great. Never bitten anyone. When hearing the description I thought he might be suffering from "tired of being so busy" syndrome but planned on culling if necessary. It would be much easier on me...

    Best Cost-effective preventative for e.cuniculi

There is a liquid version of safeguard for goats that is very easy to use with a syringe. I have not tried the preventative treatment on mine. I know EC came with my originals as I've had one case show up in a heat sensitive rabbit and heard all sorts of horror stories about EC in that line. So...

    Outdoor rabbit advice

Yeah they will be fine. We get down to -5ish for several weeks at a time during cold snaps. My colony is in my barn, concrete floors. They have about 3 inches of straw bedding but they move that around so some spots are bare. They are much more comfortable than the hutch bunnies. The only issue...

    Floor types?

Holy smokes. Nothing is getting to those rabbits! Is that pvc conduit on the doors? Thank you for showing me :)

    Floor types?

Wow! Michael do you have any photos of that floor in action? I'd love to get away from floor wire. Regarding locating floor wire I could not find anything local other than the 16 gauge. 14 gauge was all online but shipping was too expensive.

    Fly Strike

Lol the zappers. I WANT! That sounds rather like fun. Looks like we are diving headfirst into fall without much of a transition so the fly troubles should be over for this year shortly. Even the wasps have lost most of their population in just days. Usually they are all out of the nests/hives...

    Oddities while processing *graphic*

When we she bred last? I have never processed a rabbit with an advanced pregnancy but it looks like my cancer doe to me. Sorry for the picture. This does last litter was almost 3 years before this. She was 4 1/2 years old. There is a tumor on her bladder also that looks like a blob of fat in...

    Fly Strike

Yeah German Angoras are on the ivermectin sensitive list. I am not entirely sure why, as it is very widely used in this breed. There are known vienna carrying lines though. There are also a LOT of breeders who use it for maintenance. There are also fertility issues for some breeders. If there is...

    Fly Strike

Green bottle fly is what they are. I do have the fly tapes up, and fly bags but they are empty, except the tapes, those are catching some gnat things not flies lol. I don't have a detectable fly problem but obviously they are stopping by. Frustrating to see no flies anywhere until you find a...

    Fly Strike

I might try that with this doe just to help keep them off her. How long does ivermectin stay in the system? I can handle dealing with the strikes themselves although they are nasty in every way. I am more concerned about the strikes indicating sick rabbits and making sure I don't let them...

    Fodder sprouting systems, anyone?

I fed fodder for a couple years. 2 ft by 3ft rack with 5 levels of fodder trays (20 9in x 15in trays producing 4-5lb each) will replace 50% of pellets for about 20 adult large meat breed rabbits. Approx 8 oz serving for one meal. 100% fodder required over 1 lb per rabbit and was no longer cost...

    Fly Strike

That is what I was afraid of. I need to think about and make a decision about this second doe very soon because I am not letting this happen to another one.

    Favorite snake breeds?

Haven't had any for a long time but my favorites are Colubrid's. King snakes in particular, and also rat snakes. Rat snakes are a wee bit excitable though :D
