    What to do??

MSD that truly made me  I am listing her for sale with her buck and disclosing the teeth at this time. I am going to keep an eye on her and see how it goes. She is eating---a lot- so I have high hopes for her.

    What to do??

My Rex cross doe seems to have pulled her teeth on the wire of her cage. She seems to eat just fine, and I know that she pulled the teeth on the wire because I check their teeth every day. The evening before, her teeth were perfect, and the next afternoon, I could see that some of her teeth were...

    A few kit questions.

Cals have a temperature sensitive fur so to speak. If I am not mistaken (someone please correct me if I am) but if the kits chill outside of the nest box then the points will be grey instead of dark, but it should molt out during their molt and come back in dark. Here is a link to my post...

    Does culling always hurt?

Cull doesn't always mean kill. If you don't want to eat her, but want to "cull" her from your breeding program, you could sell her. How many times have you attempted to breed without a litter?

Can I make a Rex coated New Zealand?

Neither of my does that were New Zealand mixes had big dew laps either. Nothing like my Rex's have and they are still brewing their first litters.

Rex vs Mini Rex or even a cross

That is actually the plan right now. I am going to breed them to my American Blue Buck. He is a tad small on the scale at ~8lbs but he is beautiful! The Broken Black Otter doe I did breed to the Rex buck, so we will see what happens with him only having 1 descended testicle! The other girl was...

Rex vs Mini Rex or even a cross

So I purchased a trio of "Rex" that were approx 4 months old in August. I am sure some of you remember the original pictures, but they were filthy and appeared small with very poor coat quality. Fast forward to today- Their coat quality has improved some (Still NOT showable by any means) their...

    weather

I wonder what is going on with does ! It seems everyone is having issues with their does-being late, early, misses ect. I have one Am. Blue doe that delivers day 32 like clockwork and is a wonderful mom. The other (they are sisters)- First 2 breedings, I blamed on heat sterility in my buck...

    Hanging buckets?

They are 5 gallon and my flemish x fit in them just fine and she was 13lbs! The front was attached with zip ties...we never had a problem with any of them chewing on the zip ties. We did drill holes in the bottom so that urine could drain away and not sit in the hay inside the box. You could go...

    Hanging buckets?

Here is how we did our hanging buckets in our old setup (before we moved)

    Some lifted, some didn't.

That turned out to be true for me. My doe started with grunting 3 days after bred. I never saw a fall off on the original breeding date, so I placed her back 3 days later and then 6 days later and she let loose both times and wouldn't let the buck near her. Fast forward 32 days...8 popples born...

    Consider her bred??

She was bred! Kindled overnight last night....9 born 8 living....4 blues and 4 whites! Have one more doe due to kindle next week! Popples galore! I will post pictures later!

    Pulling fur!

I thought one of my American Blue's was never going to kindle AGAIN! She missed with her second breeding attempt (my thought is due to heat sterility for the buck as both girls missed) but I put her in to be bred on 9/12--nothing no fall off--NADA--she planted flat against the bottom of the...

I have 1 REW American Buck and 1 American Blue doe for sale. They will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Prices are lowered because they are on the small side for their age. Parents are 8 and 9lbs. Consider her bred??

I placed my American Blue in with my back a few different times last week and I never actually saw a "fall off" so I assumed she was not bred. Well....since it was cool this morning and I bred her sister with at least 1 successful fall off, I figured I would put her in again.......SHE BIT HIM...

    Thoughts on progress...

That is exactly the plan Ramjet! They will fill my freezer no matter what! I also believe the no pellet diet had a lot to do with it! Until I weighed them, I was almost sure they were mixed with mini rex somewhere! LOL I think with a little more time they can at least make 6lbers! It will take...

    Thoughts on progress...

They are small, I had actually asked about that recently, http://rabbittalk.com/post282963.html#p282963 and Dood said that per SOP they should be 4-8.5lbs, so with that, only the Broken Castor doesn't make minimal weight....I am working on putting on some weight slowly, as I don't want to upset...
