i'll keep the wire inside. i was going to use 1/2'' x 1/2'' on the floor, and a little bigger on the sides and top. would it be better to use the 1/2'' x 1/2'' on the whole thing, so they can't chew any wood at all ? thx for your input. dave

hi, i'm just getting started on build a wood, free standing hutch. should i run all my hardware cloth/wire on the inside so thay can't chew on the wood. or is this not a big issue ? i'm not using treated wood. thx, dave

great instruction, well done. i've been processing alot of wild rabbits, and going to start raising rabbits for meat. you taught me some better methods, thx. one thing i came up with after sticking my knife into the pee bladder was, i use a letter opener to open them up. works like a charm...

i was planning on getting one buck and two does, to raise more. will they not breed in the cold mich. winter month's ? if not, i might as well wait till late winter to get them...

they will be on the north side of my garage. plenty of light, but not direct sunlight. might get a some sun hitting the side of the hutch early mornings and evenings in the summer.

yeah, i'll just give one a try and see then, thx. i cook all my wild rabbits in a crook pot for 8-10 hrs, and are very tender. i tried to fry one in a frying pan and it was to tuff eat. are you able to fry raised rabbits in pan, and get tender meat ? if so, that would be a nice option...
