Just ask yourself if the expense of that one rabbit is worth losing your entire herd .... If I see signs of that dreaded P word .... I'm culling any and all suspects. One rabbit simply isn't worth the years I've invested in my herd no matter where it came from.

My Rex don't look like that even when in full molt blowout. They look like some 2nd / 3rd gen crosses I experimented with - horrible texture on the fur. They can call them "pedigree rex" all they want but that wouldn't pass muster with me. Start with quality stock or you'll regret it later.

Old rabbits that are in good condition will do what rabbits do .... multiply like rabbits. Fat rabbits cant comprehend rabbit math. I'm in the same boat as Prisma , wishing I had another litter out of one that's gone .... and there just isn't any replacing one that came from 1600 miles away.

That was my first thought - Cull them all including the dam to protect the rest of my herd. They just aren't worth risking the years of work put in.
