We are putting up our cages this weekend and then next weekend getting a NZW doe (4 months old) and a NZW buck (3 months old) from the same farm, we will be getting another doe somewhere else. For those of you who've had or has experience with this breed how are their temperaments generally...

The SF's are very nice looking buns, how do they compare with American Chinchillas as far as meat and fur, are SF's good Momma's? There is a breeder I found here that has these two breeds. I would love to get my hands on some Rex's or Satins but I don't think it's going to happen. :/

Hi all! I am looking for some breeding stock and I am interested in these breeds especially. I am in NC but I have searched all over the internet and could not find any breeders of the SR or Satins :(. I was wondering if anyone on here breeds them or knows someone who breeds either one of theses...

I am now starting to lean more towards the heritage breeds as for as looks and pelt wise, these buns will only be for our family, also might be selling some of the kits along the way. Champagnes are nice looking rabbit's, not too many breeders in NC, there are some AM Chin breeders I have found...

Heritage breeds sound like a pretty attractive option. Would be great to also preserve a breed. Really would like a great dual purpose rabbit.

Lol my Hubby says the same thing about the commercial breeds, the eyes creep him out so it wouldn't be an issue when its freezer time. But I would love to raise a breed that has a nice soft pelt, good meat to bone ratio, good mothers,and preferably no red eyes, not that I'm against Californians...
