    There's no better time than now to start seriously exploring raising your own feed if you have the set up for it. This obviously would be more feasible for homesteading purposes than a commercial operation but it would none the less be an extremely valuable small scale exercise.

    I think tree hay is the future for homesteading regardless of species if you have the resources available.
