K, She will be going to just inbetween Short Pump and Glenn Allen... She said that they would have to be picked up Friday, though, she is busy all day Saturday, and can't have them in the hotel, and she doesn't want to leave them in the car.

I'm actually about 3 hours from DC, in Augusta County, but on their way would be close to me. I can possibly get them to Charlottesville or Roanoke. Maybe even Richmond or Radford. I can also see if anyone is driving out further. How far up can you come?

Augusta County, VA - Am Chin Breeding Trio $140 Can help arrange transport, but no guarantees. Due to personal health issues we have made the hard decision to reduce our herd. sprouts vs fodder

Adults get 6-8% of their body weight unless nursing. Growouts get 12-16oz+ each approximately. I feed fodder from hard red spring wheat. I'm sure that each strain has slightly different values. Since posting last time I've seen nutritional analyses for barley sprouts vs barley fodder, and at...

    Hello From Virginia

LOL well, I'll let you know when I have another litter. Unfortunately the "main"/oldest AmChin buck is proving inconsistent in his fathering. I've bred him 4 times and gotten 1 litter (Breeding #4 is a repeat with the only doe that took, and she is on day 34, and I'm quickly loosing faith that...

    Ermine Rabbits

I was referring to Ermine vs Frosty being the same genetic sequence, and the amount of color on the tips being determined/affected by the rufus modifiers. Most people refer to the white as Ermine, and the tipped as Frosty (that I have seen).

    Ermine Rabbits

They are the same genetic sequence, just different rufus modifiers, from what I understand. What's the sable frosty? I haven't come across that one. I've had a couple sables, but that doe was mean and didn't throw big kitts, so she didn't stay long.

    Ermine Rabbits

My middle one had a lot, just washed out in the photo. I'm pretty sure that one was chocolate. The mom was a chocolate tort.

    Ermine Rabbits

They might get slightly darker as they get older, but not much. I've got furs from ones processed at 12-16weeks that are heavily ticked, they started out looking like a smutty/dirty white. I also have a 5 month old that you have to hold her at just the right angle to see any shading on the body...

    Ermine Rabbits

It is essentially non-extension chinchilla. It ranges from WHITE with brown eyes, to an actual frosted with colored tips. I love the color and am working with it on my meat/fur mutt line.

Cajun Wild Game Meatballs w/ Alfredo Sauce

Oh you do not know how envious I am... I've not been out here quite a year yet, but already I miss elk. I wonder if I can sneak any on the plane when I go home (to UT) for a visit.... Or maybe my mom can bring me some next summer. We used a hand grinder for this batch.... I recommend going with...

    Hello From Virginia

I have two Chin lines, one is from a meat pen champion line out of Ohio. They had focused more on the fast growth. The other is a more heritage line that focused on the fur and personality. I'm hoping crossing them will give me the best of both. If not, I have a really good meat line, and a...

    Seasonal breeders?

The longest I've heard of heat sterility lasting was about 90 days. I thankfully haven't run into it. If you have at least 12 hrs of light in your barn, I would try the wheat germ, and maybe ACV. If it still doesn't resolve I would look at new breeders. I've got a buck who has sired 1 litter out...

    Loose Minerals Vs Mineral Wheels

The wheels meant for rabbits? I don't use the livestock ones. The himalayan salts have been used in cooking by lots of people. Some people pay extra for it.

    Seasonal breeders?

For winter breeding you want to provide light (min 12 hrs, some suggest 16hrs), you can also add wheat germ (raw) to provide added vitamins (I think Vit E is the big one). When the does are ready to kindle you will want to provide PLENTY of hay/straw/whatever you give them to nest in. I usually...

    Loose Minerals Vs Mineral Wheels

Ok. I don't have to replace it now, but probably will by summer. It's the 1/2x1/2. It's had the mineral wheels sitting up against it through all the humidity and storms. I swear there's more wearing off from weather than from the rabbits. I think it's 18g, so it won't take much to get it to a...
