    Wide-band Chinchilla

Honestly I don't really understand it well enough to comment on what you said. Did you see Alaska satins response to my comment? I'd be interested to see what you thought about it as it speaks to the same thing you are saying about the wide band possibility.

    vienna vs. dutch

Oh I see, I thought OP meant for pets, but OP you mean to create a broken or tri? For that you would need En to have a showable rabbit. VM is a dq in most breeds, and neither VM nor dutch would give you appropriate markings to call it a tri. I have a VM Harli, here is a photo: His sister is...

What colors will I get.. genetic experts needed LOL

Fawn is ee showing up, Pretty sure it's A_B_C_D_ee and wild type is chestnut agouti, full dominant ABCDE with whatever recessives you want thrown in.

    vienna vs. dutch

Interesting, I've wondered about hothots for a while, do you see a large prevalence of megacolon in hothots? It's supposed to be linked to Charlie's but I've been specifically avoiding Charlie's for this reason so I have no data of my own. A Charlie would be nice for my color breeding program...

    vienna vs. dutch

That depends. Are you breeding for BEW or just VM markings? If you want BEW you'll need a VM buck, but if you just want VM marking AVOID the VM buck because you're likely to get a whole whack of white babies in a VM x VM pairing

    Wide-band Chinchilla

That one is blue self, the one under it has pretty white lacing though :) I'm guessing Opal with the genetics involved but we shall see. their dad was blue self too.

    Wide-band Chinchilla

Oh forgot the red girl. If not steel I definitely suspect silvering. Could have come from her mom or the blue chin buck photographed above, mom was broken orange but smutty/ticking and dad is chin. I'm not good enough with si to tell you which parent could have passed it on. The black chin in...

    Wide-band Chinchilla

Here's a photos of does babies. Like I said you can't see rings yet lol. But those are blue.

    Wide-band Chinchilla

They are chinchillas for sure, the buck produced an ermine kit and a rew with a broken orange so he HAS to have the cchd. The doe also just gave me a full litter of blue, I've never paired the buck with a dilute doe before but if he isn't blue then I would be EXTREMELY surprised. Their father...

    Wide-band Chinchilla

Here's a bit of a photo dump in case it helps. Same chins. I will say that dark part at the centre I think is always there, not saying it can't be new growth, but for my rabbits this is a familiar sight.

    Wide-band Chinchilla

Thank you!!! She just had 2 kits literally yesterday so once their hair gets longer I'll post them too. One is self but one is Agouti so might help with the genetics on the wideband. Daddy has 3 more litters due over the next month too, I can update if you want?

    Breeding for good Chinchilla color

Hmm that's interesting, I suppose it's time to eat my hat then. I've never seen an adult chin with the issue. Are you able to comment on what the heck cchm is? Or why they claim there can be no yellow with cchl? Shaded varieties in my experience have shown clear tendencies away from black and...

    Breeding for good Chinchilla color

That is how I interpret it as well I just disagree with it. The adults photographed here are cchd black chinchilla. The babies ended up being chestnuts but I think that's what your guy is talking about, and I have heard that it's possible for a baby chinchilla (cchd) to look like that before a...

    Wide-band Chinchilla

Here are three of my rabbits, A blue chin brother and sister, and the red daughter of the brother. Hope that helps! If you can tell me anything about their banding that would be great, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see really lol. I think the daughter might be steel, does she look it to...

    Lilac Chinchilla?

Why is everyone going shaded over sallander? I see Salander all day long here ....?

    Wide-band Chinchilla

Wideband confuses me. I don't really understand what I am looking for, however I believe my blue chin buck is wideband. I'll try and remember to get you a picture when the sun is up.

    Breeding for good Chinchilla color

I found a better link for you. I think your other article is talking about the SABLE gene, often called chinchilla light, which does have a dark/medium/light varience, as described below. Chinchilla light/ sable / cchl is all the same thing. Cchl leaves more yellow than cchd and allows for much...

    Breeding for good Chinchilla color

If that is what it says it's incorrect, cchl is decidedly more yellow than cchd. It's not even debatable really....
