    Bought as Blue but???

Look like a chin to me. In the rex world blue agouti = opal and chocolate agouti = amber, but it doesn't look like either of those two.

Holland Lop Buck - Comments? (Updated Pictures)

This is really not a good age to evaluate holland lops. They go through an ugly stage at this age. How they develop varies a ton between lines in Hollands, so you'd be better off asking the rabbits' breeder or somebody who is familiar with their lines as to how you think he will mature. Right...

    Blue Tort Otter?

She & the baby look like black tort otters to me. Mother especially. That rufus is too bright to be a dilute

Conflicting info on dominance with Harlequin

Harlequin is dominant to non-extension (tort, orange, sable point/blue point, frosty, etc), and recessive to steel and full extension. You can breed it out; if you breed to a tort or other non-extension color, you'll get a mix of harlequin and non-extension and the non extension babies can't...

Can a dilute also show steel

Dilutes can be steel but I don't see any steel here. Either an orange or a chocolate agouti. What color was her skin when she was born?

    Sore hock or callus

Looks like a sore hock to me. A callus shouldn't look red and raw. I'd make sure the cardboard was clean and maybe give him something with more traction to stand on. Maybe something like an upside down tile.

    Pine Shavings for Bedding??

I use pine shavings. You just want to make sure they're heat treated/kiln-dried. Most of the ones sold for pet bedding are.

    *UPDATE* Pregnancy Confusion

I rarely see kits moving - especially on breeds with thicker fur, like mini lops. Usually I can feel them moving, though, if I hold my hand gently on their stomach for a few minutes. My does don't usually make nests this early, they usually wait until like 30 minutes before giving birth. There's...

The great chin debate? What color is he?

Looks sable chin to me. (Sable chins should have a dark undercolor). Only other color I might consider would be chocolate sable chin. If the eartips look obviously chocolate, that's what I would call them. If they look seal brown or black I would call it a normal sable chin (which is what it...

    Best Litter For Rabbits

Pine pellets are what I would recommend if you just have one or two rabbits. Super absorbent, and much cheaper than anything you'd find in feed stores. They sell it for stall bedding at most feed stores (including tractor supply), it's like $5 for a large bag of it.

    Pet Pricing vs Purebred Pricing

Petstores overprice. If you try to sell a pet rabbit for that price, nobody will buy it. The only people paying that much money for a pet rabbit from a pet store are people who don't do research and/or buy them on impulse and so don't look anywhere for a better price.

    4H Prospect Mini Rex?

I think he's okay. Not sure how competitive he will be, youth mini rex competition (especially for the less common varieties like chinchilla) varies A LOT by location. Your posing is good in the first picture but I'm not a huge fan of his hindquarters; he peaks too far forward and needs more...

    What Breed?

Could easily be a flemish/NZ cross, which is much more common than american chinchillas. Look up Light Gray flemish giants; they're the same color.

    which is better?

It depends. At 3 months old it could just be that the rabbit is impatient and the owner is as well. If the posing problems persist even with training and even as she gets older, it could be structural, where posing actually makes her feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately is something I see in rex &...

    which is better?

It depends on what you are wanting them for. If you want them for market class for 4H: try to find ones with a quick growth rate (one of the problems I see with show line rex is that they take a while to mature, which isn't ideal for fryer and meat pens) and a new-zealand like, commercial...

    which is better?

^Agreed. I personally would look for a different breeder. New zealands don't come in tricolor. Purebred rex always have "plush" fur. Sounds like this breeder has a bunch of meat mutts. Which would be fine if you were just looking for meat but for 4H you probably want something that follows show...

    Surprise red eyes... but how?

There's some albino floating around in some chin gene pools. Some non-extension as well. Especially as some people likely crossed in new zealand whites or florida whites to improve type in some lines. Might be so far back you don't see it on the pedigree, but you see albinos pop up in a lot of...

    Pricing

I usually see meat breed mixes go for about $15 (that is for breeding stock - if you're selling at 10 lbs I assume breeding stock. Usually for market they are sold as fryers at 5 lbs/10 weeks, whichever comes first. Their growth tends to slow after that point).

    Agouti cross himi gene

What color are the eyes? None of those breeds should carry the shaded gene.
