Parents being sued. No idea what to do now

And to add to everything, my mom was served with a lawsuit from a credit card company a couple days ago. She owes almost $2000, which me and my husband will have to pay because they don't have the money. Christmas Day was horrible. My brother got mad and started cussing and yelling because my...

    Conditioning for Show

I know rabbits must meet certain weight requirements but points are taken off for being too flabby, or too lean. I feed 16% alfalfa based pellets and it's a good quality feed. I also normally feed timothy hay, but sometimes they just get bermuda hay that my horses get. So for rabbits a bit under...

    Show Necessities

We are new to showing. I want to do more showing and maybe, possibly go to the big ARBA Convention in Louisville. What do we need to bring to the show so we don't stick out like the newbies we are? LOL. I have a local guy who is supposed to be building wire carriers and I will order two larger...

    Your Favorite Winter Activities!

I hate winter. It's too cold, but it doesn't interfere with day to day chores. I feed and water the rabbits, rake out the barn once a week, feed the dogs, feed the horses, feed the chickens, run errands and do grocery shopping, help my dad, run our Great Dane website, rabbitry website, schedule...

Who here is active in the ARBA?

Me and hubby are both members. I was a member a few years ago and we registered our rabbitry recently. Planning on joining the Rex club and the Flemish Giant club and possibly becoming members of a couple locallish clubs. Our closest show is 45 minutes away but they do one show a year. The rest...

    New Zealand color crossing rules

Thank you for the quick response. I do believe the whites only have white in their background.

    New Zealand color crossing rules

I have recently bought a trio of non pedigreed white NZ. I also have 2 junior blue NZ does and their full brother. They do have a pedigree. I found a senior blue NZ buck, pedigreed that I could breed to the blue does but since it will be a while before they are ready to breed, can I breed the...

Your thoughts for a meat herd?

I use 17% pellets, alfalfa based and 3.5% fat. I have Flemish, Rex, New Zealand and Giant Chinchilla. They are all at a good weight, except for a few I recently got and my white Rex doe but I think a little dose of Ivermectin will go a long way in helping them. They get timothy/orchard grass hay...

What Do You Think About Hay Pellets?

I have fed the alfalfa pellets but not a single rabbit would eat them. I tried hay cubes too, same thing. They didn't touch them. So I buy hay and made wire hay racks in the vain hopes it would reduce hay wastage. Did it help? Maybe just a little. But they love hay and like going through it to...

    Getting cold outside

-15!! Brrrrr. Way too cold for me lol. As long as rabbits are out of the weather and don't get wet they handle the cold better than heat. I would give him a box and plenty of hay/straw and he should do just fine.

    WTAF?? IDK

I say bucks have cheerios and does have tacos. LOL. Also, bucks have more space between anus and penis. The doe's parts are much closer together. I don't sex babies until 4 weeks, then I check several times as they get closer to 8 weeks. Smaller breeds can be very difficult to tell, even at 6-8...

Went from 7 rabbits to 14

I think the last time I actually posted about my rabbits I only had 7 breeders. I have since bought a Giant Chinchilla doe, a white pedigreed Flemish doe to go with my light grey buck, a trio of white New Zealands and a trio of 3 blue New Zealands that are siblings. I have a broken Chocolate Rex...

Rabbitry record keeping apps for phone use??

I use Everbreed and really like it. I don't use it on my phone, usually just on my laptop. It has reminders for when to put in nest boxes, do pregnancy checks, etc. I can add pictures, and transferring pedigrees when they are sold/bought is super easy. They also have a ledger for keeping track...

    Time of day for breeding?

I've found early morning breedings have been more successful than evening. In the evening, the does aren't as cooperative for some reason.

Parents being sued. No idea what to do now

That's just the tip of the iceberg. They can't even get help with dad, you know home health to just come once a week to give mom a break. His insurance said they don't cover it. This last time they applied for food stamps they were told they were denied because they had 2 vehicles. What do they...

Parents being sued. No idea what to do now

To make a really long story short, in 2020, my dad had surgery to have an abdominal aortic aneurysm repaired and during recovery he had a major stroke that left him completely blind and unable to use his left side. In 2021 my mom quit working because she just couldn't physically do it anymore...

    Great Dane puppies

Puppy update :) We also still have some available. They will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. They go to the vet for 8 week puppy shots, microchips, exams, and then most will be picked up that weekend. Started leash training today but only had time to work with a few. They LOVE being outside and playing...

    Great Dane puppies

I don't think there's a term for it. He's the only one with the perfect split in the litter. He's an oddball. He's quiet and just sits back and watches everything. He is also more independent and is the first to wander off and go exploring on his own.
