I use big pieces of tile and each rex gets two pieces. Most of my does prefer sitting on the tiles. My bucks don't have an issue with sore hocks but my two does do and I have to treat them constantly, even with tile.

Definitely wait longer than 6 months. 8 months is where I aim for their first breeding. If you wait too long (a year) they do seem to have a harder time getting pregnant.

I would wait if you can, until her kits are weaned. I try to avoid adding any unnecessary stress to bred does. Olive Oil rubbed into her ear might be effective until she has weaned her kits also.
