Homemade mixed feed

Damn! I never would have thought to feed that stuff as I break out in an itchy rash if I touch it. Hmmmmmm how to overcome, how to overcome?

    Rex and Angora fur question

I am so glad I finally asked, it has been bugging me for aaaaages now. Would crossing in and out, Rex to Angora make a change to the wool into the darker colors? Rather a few years ago I had one french angora that I managed to get one litter from with a rex buck. The two surviving kits bred...

    Rex and Angora fur question

That is so weird though, one would think the follicle would make the hair shaft colored as it grows instead of limiting the pigment to a set amount regardless of how long or short the length is.

    Rex and Angora fur question

If the Rex coat consists of undercoat and no guard hairs and is ultra vivid in color, why are Angora all washed out looking? They are mostly undercoat as well, right? Have been wondering for awhile now.

I give up on EVER thinking I know anything!

Have to admit to being not only weirded out by it but if they all start doing this, how am I EVER going to be ready for litters? Not complaining though, 7 live and beautiful kits? Priceless!

__________ Sat Jun 01, 2019 7:17 pm __________

Had to juggle cages...

I give up on EVER thinking I know anything!

Went out today to check on three junior does due their first litters. No litters. But my senior doe Tax who was due last week was carrying a mouthful of hay and when I looked in her hide box there was a brand new litter. The buck she lives with had, of course, peed on them so queue his...

    Any other crocheters on here?

Nope, but some of the things I have seen made are amazing.

Done! Fur purse with felted insides.

No, I took all the leftover bits of fiber from other projects, the brightest ones and made it from that. So sheep's wool, in other words. The purse was floppy so needed stiffening and that was all I could think of. It worked a treat. :D I am glad you like it! Now, if someone would see it...

    Just wondering

I tried it once but the second buck attacked the doe because she smelt of his hated rival. Never tried again. Would love to hear how your tries turn out.

My new favorite things to watch when feeding

Rabbits eating watermelon. And a litter of very tiny newly eating solid foods kits trying to get a bite out of an entire banana leaf hung up in the cage. Seven of them bouncing off the leaf every time they try to take a bite? Soooooo funny!

__________ Sun May 26, 2019 2:54...

Done! Fur purse with felted insides.

Thank you. :D My daughter loves it but not in those colors so guess who is working on another purse? This one will be pink with white fur. And she wants a heart button, not a skull. Sometimes I wonder how she can possibly be related to me.

Building a "canning Kitchen" in the dungeon.

OMG not only does that look amazing and will be sooooo handy for you and your daughter both but it is incredibly thoughtful and nice of you to do! Made me smile seeing that much niceness in the world.

Done! Fur purse with felted insides.

Rex hide, vegetable tanned. The felt strap and lining was wet felted. The Pirate theme fit my mood, skull button and ocean colored strap. :D https://photos.app.goo.gl/YXHtwZijraLiREkTA https://photos.app.goo.gl/bAyYxkXbNE4bcfNz8 The lining as it dried...

    Oh what fun!!

And how used to new things are they? My rabbits now will eat just about anything but a year ago, naaaaaah they seriously would not. It took them time to learn they could eat things other than pellets. Now they eat just about anything. :D Good thing too as feed stores are getting more...

    Oh what fun!!

It is my favorite plant ever! Good for everything except a groomed looking yard. We had it in stir fry last night. Not much but it helps bulk out the greens.

    Oh what fun!!

I feed heaps of Spanish Needle as I have only just learned about chives. Never grow them as I have never much liked them. Will grow them now but having said that, the SN seem to do the same job.
