This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

Yeh, wow indeed. My goal now is to be boring and dull. What chance do you give me? Investigation is ongoing in the house and so far, NOTHING has been found! I have offered to build a cage and place it in the kitchen with a rat or bunny in it, enough food and water for a week...

My crazy sheep idea- All the animal crazy, all the time!

I LOVE it, you sound so good and happy. Your bed sounds fab, I have only done one pillow so far and OMG the amount of wool needed to pack just a pillow makes a mattress seem an unattainable goal.

    New to processing pelts

I have to say tea does not make a stiffer hide, all my hides I now do with tea and they are lovely. If I do say so myself.

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

It is exactly like a war, 5 more in the bucket trap which brings my total to 24! Only 6 adults of which only ONE was female. Have tweaked the trap to catch the slightly older and more agile youngsters. Wonder what rats are called at the "Out of the nest, on their own, not ready to...

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

Have seen many things about Ronaldsay, it is super cool and the sheep are even cooler. It is a bank holiday weekend so no chance our letter got to the island dr. yet, waiting is hard. Now playing a game with the hoards of rats, I put food in a pot and then a water filled trash can beside it...

    Raw Fleeces, now what?

No salve or anything, just the wool felt or rabbit hide on the ache or pain. It might be the extra warmth assisting blood flow to the area that gives relief but the doesn't explain why it works in the bed where one is already warm. A bit of a mystery but it really does work. Thank goodness it...

    Raw Fleeces, now what?

You are so right about not all white being white, the white Shetland is vastly different from the white Cotswold locks. Am loving more and more to just use the color the wool comes in, my little Vikings suit the natural colors nicely. https://photos.app.goo.gl/oUYx1diJYbPfF224A Felted a super...

Accidentally put the fear of me into my rooster

Nothing on earth is easier than chickens, seriously so much gain for so little time and money. Deep shavings, water on a table to keep it clean, a roost and a nest box and in your climate, lots of shade. They don't have to free-range unless you want them too, a roofed-over 10 by 10 dog kennel...

Accidentally put the fear of me into my rooster

Ducks are also HUGE crappers, like, megatons of poo! They put chickens to shame and chickens are pretty good pooers in their own respects. Love duck eggs though, and duck meat is fantastic. Why not try both and see which ones you love best.

Accidentally put the fear of me into my rooster

With no swivel I used a loose loop above the spur to spin free but the plonker would stand on it, catch it in his toes and then proceed to, I guess, spin like a ballerina and end up 3 inches from his teether point. Proper swivels were on order but he doesn't need them anymore so they...

Accidentally put the fear of me into my rooster

I tried that holding upside down and head thing M4G, it did not work. Had NEVER seen a rooster act like this one  The reason I tied him up was I had no time to butcher him and I couldn't deal with his behavior for the few days it was going to take me to catch up enough to "do" him and...

Accidentally put the fear of me into my rooster

If you have never met a psychotic attack rooster you will never understand an animal with no off button. Being young he was not very dangerous - he did manage to break a blood vesicle in my finger which hurt like hell and give me many bruses - but had he been older his spurs would have done...

Accidentally put the fear of me into my rooster

Caught a beautiful, young, healthy rooster in a parking lot near us and while he was fantastic with the hens, he was pure mental with me. Attacking - no spurs yet, thank goodness - and just not stopping. In fighting him off I must have hit every wall, the roof, bounced him off the floor, you...

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

I will check out the traps as my bucket one is being messed up by the wind today. The rat that is coming inside has taken away two of my three sweet potatoes  which is insult added to injury! Yesterday the wind was from off the sea and everyone had good eyes, including the...

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

Dropped it in the post box this evening. Fingers crossed it works! Rats. Have put plaster bombs out and have a big bowl under the sink. Had one all over the pantry shelf eating and despoiling, as they do. Am playing an interesting game outside, feeding them in one plant pot linked...

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

It is already in the UK but the Isle of Coll is in Scotland and they are being, rightly so, more cautious. We are going to send a letter to the island Dr. and explain our cause and see if that might help. Will also keep looking and once the restrictions lift we will get moved into the first...

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

Thank you all, I love RTers, always thinking outside the box, which, in today's world, is wonderful. The dr. frightened them by reminding them that they were in the "vulnerable" category (as are we) so they have said that, until Scotland lifts restrictions, they just won't rent it out. We had...

This one has me baffled and almost out of rabbits

M4G, why does nothing done against the use of these chemicals do any good? Got word on the house today. The word is "No!" The island dr. told the owner not to rent to us in case we had the virus.
