Doe nest building 12 days early?

This guy on youtube (link - https://www.youtube.com/@TheRabbitryCenter )has been very helpful in the palpating demonstration. I do not agree with everything he says but have found him helpful.

    Buck or doe

Agreeing with Alaskan Satin here, I would give everyone another chance. My current litters are from two proven bucks (my oldest is now culled) and an unproven buck. 1 proven doe (litter of 5 one DOA) who always gives litters of 10, 1 unproven doe (litter of 5), and a doe that is on litter three...

    Chinchilla Rex at last!!

Thank you, the little blacks have the same frosting as Momma but not as pronounced (very few white hairs streaking them like their grand sire). All mine are mutt rabbits so I know coloring is a guessing game. Momma looks like a coco cream puff with a dark chocolate nose.

help, my 3 week old rabbits have poop stuck

Personally, I think it is mom not doing her job on teaching them how to clean properly. But that is just my opinion, as I had the same problem with my Lion head, who did not clean properly until I placed a retired doe in with him that took to grooming him even though he is an adult of a few...

Doe nest building 12 days early?

Does are crazy, I love them, my first timer had a nest last minute with so much fur coming out of the nest I was wondering where she got it all as she had no bald patches (lol), where my most experienced doe built three nests and started pulling a week before she was due lining all three.

    Handling babies

I breed meat rabbits, but love seeing them going to loving homes when I can, or sell well handled breeders. In my experience, It all depends on the doe. All my girls don't mind the handling but one, we wait for the popcorning to mess with her young. Coco is a great mother but if you mess with...

    Chinchilla Rex at last!!

My pic, what color would you call this boy. He was born black and silver out quickly at 3 weeks. I have been calling him Chinchilla because he looked like my pet chinchilla when I was younger. He was my surprise, from a tri male and gray Dutch/Californian momma that have only ever given me...

    Breeding woes...

I think I may have caused it. Sorry! Being an older mother of a single child that is perfectly healthy. I would have to say I wished I had, had her younger, but I also am not looking a gift rabbit in the mouth. I know of plenty of older women that have had perfectly healthy children (Abit...

    Question For The Experts

currently I am doing the Alum/Salt treatment (youtube link to process ), but am seriously thinking about trying the Salt/egg treatment.

    Question For The Experts

Definitely easier to process, no feather plucking, with the bonus of a fur for mittens, gloves, moccasins, and other warm things

    Do rabbits stress eat?

Please control pellet intake, fat rabbits are not happy bunnies at all. I have to control the intake of my neutered lionhead, I have found he will stress eat and every time he gains too much weight he is one very lethargic, non-loving bunny that he usually is.

    Meat Rabbit Diet

I give fresh graze once/twice a day, limited pellets and all the hay my grow outs could want and have had great weight gain with little fat (have found that fat on rabbits is bad tasting). I have mut meat rabbits and average 2lbs to as much as 4 1/2 lbs dressed, depending on size of my muts.

    Breeding woes...

Personally never had a problem with my does, young or old. It was the older bucks I had a problem with. But must agree, Once they settle into a new environment, Bam babies.

I have a lot of questions

I would have to disagree with the podcast and your opinion, As Ultrasound saved my child's life, Being older (40) when I had her I did not go into labor on my due date, but was actually naturally aborting my daughter. If not for the ultrasound, they would not have known what was going on during...
