    Creeping goopy hay eye??

I haven't checked his teeth. I took away hay since I thought it might have an allergen in it. He's pooping and peeing normally.

    Creeping goopy hay eye??

I removed the hay and isolated Trooper across the room four days ago. He's not sneezing. There is no pus snot. There isn't any matting on his front legs. His eyes are still running. He's still losing fur on his face. The run-off that dries in his fur is like the pictures above. ****THIS IS...

    Honey Roasted Rabbit

Today I put all the loins in a baking dish, used 1 stick of butter, 1/3 cup of honey, Adobo seasoning, some red pepper flake, and 3 tbsp honey mustard for the sauce. I have it in the oven right now covered in tinfoil, and going to cook it for an hour. Will serve with rice. I'll post back and let...

    Noob Questions, Nesting Early?

Tums are for the calcium, which does use during labor. Low calcium levels can stall a labor. Fruit flavored tums, not uber minty. I usually give one either day 30 or as the doe is in labor. I've had does eat it right away, some eat it afterward, and others just ignore it. I figure they know what...

Stress, watery eyes, and hard decisions

I did use some of the hay in the new nestbox, that may explain the NBE, if it's mold. Ugh, I hope and I hope not that it would be mold. The hay doesn't smell moldy nor does it look it. Tomorrow is garbage day, maybe I'll just throw it out and start with a new bale. Maybe I culled in vain, but I...

Stress, watery eyes, and hard decisions

This does relate to the Creeping Gooey Hay Eye thread, ultimately. Enderman, my prize winning NZR young buck, has had weepy eyes the last month or so. I thought it was hay related, since it cleared up when I changed hay. Right after, his cagemate, Trooper got gooey eye, which appeared with the...

    Garden Time!

Here in northern Ohio we've still got months of really cold weather left, unless global warming does us a favor and shortens winter considerably. I think we'll not get as much cold since Erie hasn't frozen over. I'm still contemplating what I'm going to grow this season. I really liked having...

suggestions to make my new hutch better

We have a spigot in the rabbitry area and that is simply awesome. I can attach a hose and hose out pans, wash the cement floor when it gets urinated on, and I can do watering right quick! If you are enclosing the place then you're going to need shop fans for active ventilation. I'd worry...
