Intruducing new veg to rabbit with sensitive stomach ?

I have not introduced much to them. They handled garlic chives and bellpepers quite well during the fall. I could feed more hay. I will try the boss.

Intruducing new veg to rabbit with sensitive stomach ?

Maybe I can be more intentional about slowly building up their tolerance to the oats? I am sure they didn't eat their pellets, which is the majority of their diet. I feed a complete pellet. No new poop either....so gas drops to the rescue. Not letting it go longer than 24hrs. This isn't the...

Intruducing new veg to rabbit with sensitive stomach ?

I keep trying to introduce rolled oats to my bunnies, about a tablespoon. I gave them some last night. And for example today, two of them have not eaten hardly anything. It's starting to feel like I have to give them the baby gas stuff every time I turn around.

Cheap and easy winter water idea

Thank you! One of my does just made it clear she's not getting enough. She was pawing at the water to have me put it down faster. My other doe is not eating much. I will add a lunch water along with the late night one I've had going past few nights and see if that helps. Crazy girls get their...

    Is this another huge mistake?

Yes. I read through the coments and he gave this answer....He said they spit it out and if it is an issue to use quickset instead, I guess that gets hard enough they can't chew it.

    New Member Introduction

Welcome. Love the poor parents comment! I watched an 11 year old doing her 4h presentation on youtube and learned so much from it! Welcome! I've been doing Rex rabbits since October 2021. Looking forward to a first litter sometime in the next few months. :)

Here's a video on the kindling tote mentioned. I plan to do this as well. Love your set up!

    Fat or genetics?

I will check his ears and treat for mites. Thanks! He didn't droop his ears at all that I saw today. The ears go into a solid v shape position listening and attentive. He will bearly tolerate his ears laying back for a split second during petting. Yes, and his droppings look good. Thank you for...

    Fat or genetics?

Continuing the saga, I don't know if Zap is doing very well. I'm seeing small symptoms. Not sure it I'm overthinking this or not. But he is my only buck right now. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm wondering if I want such a problematic fellow passing his genes down into our herd. Yet at the...

I just saw a thred where they wiped the medicine on his paws so he can clean it off himself. I thought that quite interesting.

At 14 wks growing this is the outcome

What about heavily chlorinated water? I've been wondering if I may need to start giving my rabbits filtered water. Just seems strange giving our drinking water to our livestock.

How does water effect growth rate?

    Fat or genetics?

I agree. He was a roaring bright red at 10a.m. and when I went to give him a bath at 4p.m. it had calmed down to this deep pink.

    Fat or genetics?

Crisis averted....hopefully. Redness is gone. Seems the garlic chives did the trick? His fir is a tad tangled down their, but he cleaned himself up. So proud of him!

    Fat or genetics?

Update: Last weigh in he was 7lbs 13oz. I've changed the pellets from a 16% to a 18% becuase my does aren't gaining fast enough to hit Sr. weight by 6 month. He looks like he has lost some conditioning. I do weigh their food now as well. (Don't really know what I'm talking about) This buck is...

    Very sad news😭

Life and death is a big part of owning animals and life in general. Accidents happen. We can’t hold on to blame and unforgivness or it will destroy us from the inside out. One of the many reasons I let my kids have pets is so they can learn about life and death from observing their pets. It will...

    Need Opinions!

I just watched this last night. However, I am to a point I'm having a hard time excepting the naritive of "Bunnies raised in a cage are content and happier in a cage." The reason being, I let my rabbits out one at a time into our 100ft long yard the other day when making cage modifications. All...

The Line Between Show Rabbits and Pet Rabbits

I am raising meat rabbits as livestock with the breaders being family pets. We have owned rabbits for three months and yesterday was the first time I let them roam the yard. I was doing some work on one of the does cages, so I let the kids watch her while I worked. She decided to roam the yard...
