    2nd litter w/ pictures!!

This is my husband's favorite age. By week 4 he's losing interest, and that's when I take over, because I can start evaluating and sexing them. He just likes a warm cuddle bug.

    Pellet free hens?

precisely, pelleting is the same as dog food, it's just supposed to make things easier, at a cost, usually to our animals health.

    FLAX SEED (THE RESULTS)

This thread is a bit old but has a lot of great info. That being said I give approx 1/2 tsp of flax seed every morning as part of a mix I use for top dressing with my Angoras. I have no doubt that it helps their coats as well as skin health.

    Breeding Older Does

So, interesting question. I had two does. Neither of them have had a litter in at least 6 months, possibly as long as 18 months. I bred them both, to proven bucks. One doe has yet to kindle. The second doe, died during kindling. The doe that passed appeared to have bled internally, starting...

Need Goat Info for my Novel

I for one would love to read it. I love historical fiction, and what you've teased with so far is absolutely enticing.

Need Goat Info for my Novel

My experience is much more with sheep, than goats, but for the most part knowledge crosses species in this case. The doe should have milk, some does have some present a day or so before, so the kid should be able to suckle and Sarah should be able to milk out as much colostrum as possible. The...

    I'm concerned

Being 8 is a tough age. You want to do things, but often lack the ability to completely follow through. It may be time for just a brief conversation with the parents. Say you're there to help, you can get them started, and ask that same question to them, "What are you going to do with the...

    Blocked milk duct?

Are they related? If they are I would worry about a genetic link. I've not experienced a blocked nipple, but I imagine a warm compress would certainly help. How old is their litter?

    Hot weather and Angoras

I'd give the tiles about 11am, to help keep the, cool through the warmest part of the day. Bottles are nice, I've also seen some people using frozen water balloons instead of soda bottles. Remove the balloon and give just the ice. I think the water in the tray even as it melts helps. A fan, a...

    Update on blind doe

But, without knowing why the rabbit is blind, and not being able to rule out disease, a food source sale is irresponsible. Personally, I would cull a blind rabbit. The anxiety the rabbit would eternally feel, as a prey species, imo, would be cruel to force it to endure.

    Pumpkins!

Should be great. The shavings will add mulch properties. You can also use droppings as a top dressing after the seedlings are going strong.

    What color am I?

She looks chocolate tort to me. The red coloring tends to come with Black / Chocolate torts, and I see chocolate lacing in the ears/nose, not black.

    Is this normal?

It looks like normal matting that occurs around the male's genitalia. It is always an area that matts up quickly, through movement, feces collection, etc. If I could see a pic, with him on his back, with his legs just normally set, maybe I could give you more insight. I'm not seeing anything in...

    Is this normal?

To me, it looks like molt. In a non-molting rabbit it could have been triggered by stress. I'm not sure what the first pic that sagebrush posted is. Genitalia? I would suggest an email or text, maybe not a voice conversation. That way you can say what you need to say, then put it away for ten...
