How would i go about starting new pedigree

Building a pedigree takes a bit of time as you want. To have generations to write down. It's like keeping a genealogy " family tree" so to speak. If a rabbit you own , you have no background information for you must wait until you build the information.if this makes sense. I hope it does but...

    4-H Rabbit Project

Thank you so much h. Being a newbie to this sort of farming is kinda difficult for me even though I know these guys were champion show rabbits before we got them last year. They are californians. I'm trying g to learn hoe to approach marketing meat vs show etc

    Dumor Wire Cages

Only down fall is the 24x24 for some breeds won't be nearly big enough. I have californians and my does can barely play in them.. they serve their purpose, but I like our 36's better. Also, if they're exposed at all to liquids they will rust. Just an fyi

Nesting Box and Shelves/Hidey Holes Dimensions

We purchased some "milk" crates from Tractor supply. I beli2v3 they were about $7 each..not too bad. We cut a partial side off so there's an opening big enough for a rabbit to hop in . Plenty of space... perfect size for kits. It was our first idea, however I'm sure for the future I will...

How often to breed to keep production up?

So if you breed, have bunnies at 30 days , wait 2 weeks to rebreed, bunnies will be 6 weeks when weaned mom should get a 2 week break of no kits before she's ready to kindle again. Best explanation of intense breeding would be from Bobby with the rabbitey center.

    Where to get blank pedigrees

Basical Basically a pedigree sheet is a birth certificate

    When to rebreed.

I would have to disagree... I would say most likely pump up her protein first give it a couple weeks, re breed and feed extra protein during as well. Her body needs time to build snd recover no less than any other animal.

Where can I find an inexpensive scale?

For one that measures ounces so to weigh babies get a cheap digital from Amazon as far as big bunnies I use a bathroom scale that's digital.

How long do y'all suggest till rebreeding?

So I fallow bobby on yt at The Rabbitry Center and he recommends waiting 8 weeks, this is known as intense breeding and when you wait this long it makes it easier on the does to breed and you get a better success rate. At a breeding rate of every 8 weeks you can produce about q00lbs of meat. If...

    How much Feed??

If you want a bit more to it just toss in some extra rolled oats and they'll be good I mixed mine in with my feed ..black oil sunflower seeds too are great. It'll help add whats not in the feed already snd balance them out.

    How much Feed??

I was doing that as well and was getting very lazy heavy rabbits.

    How much Feed??

If you feed 1c per rabbit per day they'd still be very healthy rabbits.. you can even split the feeding into 2x per day. Half cup morning half cup evening.
  19. sweeethearts_2002

    How much Feed??

One single rabbit needs 1 cup like literally measure 1 cup of food per day. You can adjust this according to what they're eating every day. If they leave a little feed a little less if they seem to be scarring it just add a bit more. This doesn't include the hay and other leaftly greens and...

    Homemade mixed feed

Question...I have a lionhead that refuses to eat anything but pellet . I know pellets sre good, but I feel like he needs other things in his diet. He won't even chew on wood. I have one pregnant doe who's having some softer stools and she gets very few oats mixed with pellet 18% and regular...
