My doe is kindling any tips

my opinion is, be sure she has everything she needs, -clean nest box, claen bedding, and privacy ... She is much more likely to "make mistakes" if she feels she has to watch out for "intruders".. she needs to focus "all" of her attention on kindling. -you can peek in every half hour to 45...

    EC? Emergency ?

onion/garlic is only toxic to "house rabbit society", and cats the info the HRS "expert", used to promote this "nonsense", was taken from a study on cats..

    Runny Eye

clogged nasolacrimal duct, gently stroke the side of the rabbits nose, from teary eye to nose.. for a few minutes to attempt to clear it.. the duct is just under the skin, on top of the bone.. A duct "flush", is beyond the ability of all but a few rabbit breeders, [and quite a few vets]

    EC? Emergency ?

If you feed onions [or a bunch of green onions],each day for 2 weeks - and the symptoms are reduced... It is EC... allium plants control EC, but do not "cure" it .

Why is my kit acting odd ?

EC is my best guess, [if not that, then maybe a birth defect] 2 weeks is too early for tapeworm neural damage... if onion or garlic tops included in the diet ,stops or reverses the damage, it is for sure EC..

    Hi all from Wisconsin

Yes, be careful.. There are a lot of "crazies" out there.. Don't let people know about your "rabbitry", unless you are completely sure of them.. For some unknown reason, this "rabbit thing" has become a "rallying cry", for "animal rights" activists. Many "rabbit people" have been attacked, had...

    Treating Snuffles [OLD POST]

Snuffles, is a symptom of immune system issues. *check feed , and hay for mold - and avoid old feed. * make sure there is enough grass hay in the diet, to insure dental health. *make sure water is clean *make sure ventilation/ cleanup- is adequate to insure ammonia from urine and feces...

    I'm new!

it takes about a month for hormones to settle down after a rabbit is "fixed" all rabbits are different [like people], some rabbits are fine together if one is not fixed-- but- usually there is trouble if the male is constantly trying to breed a "fixed" doe...

    I'm new!

when bonding keep a careful watch , to make sure you seperate them immediately -if humping turns into hair pulling. Wait until the next day-- then start over.. If rabbits are allowed to "actually fight", there is little chance of them ever being friends..

Intruducing new veg to rabbit with sensitive stomach ?

this is probably an unnecessary comment, I will mention this anyway.. Always start out with just a little piece of any new food ,[even "safe foods" ] then gradually increase amounts every 3 or 4 days. Rabbits need time, to develop the enzymes and bacteria necessary --to digest new foods...

    Standard black ants dangerous?

I try to exclude all ants, even though some kinds may not be dangerous.. When I use hanging cages suspended with wire, if the ants start climbing the support wires , I wipe them down with citronella candle wax. When I have wooden cages that are standing on the ground, I sit the legs in small...

    Metal Nest box

It worked better for me, when i used a larger size box for my NZ does, and the NZ /Cali crosses. If you have really good mothers, and the weather is't too warm, they will still do a good job in that size nest box . https://www.bassequipment.com/SCResult/ ... Boxes-3341

    Purina Professional pellets any good?

My opinion, High fat diets promote faster growth in young rabbits, as does higher protein content. The takeaway is-- high protein levels in adult rabbit feed, "sometimes" causes issues,.. like bladder sludge ** before you get too concerned about cloudy, or colored urine - let me say some...
