I have never had bloody meat and I cervically dislocates but the rabbit bleeds inside the skin anyway. I also use a pellet gun, regardless of method I soak rabbits in salted ice water to cool them and it draws out any blood left.

Sprinkle in some diatomaceous earth food grade. It will kill them plus deworm your rabbits. It is also beneficial in many ways to the overall health of the rabbits. I take it too and my dogs.

I use a pellet gun and I can shoot them at a distance if need be. I have a high power pellet gun that does require a license here in Canada. But it is quiet and the rabbits make no noise if you hit them in the brain. Mine are free range colony rabbits. It is a very humane way to dispatch.

But if I ever see a problem I will use live catch traps so the rabbits are unaffected.

I have not had any problems with mice so far.
