    Ivermectin usage

@Alaska Satin how much of the 1.87% ivermectin paste do you give a meat rabbit? Also a pea size dose?

    Pellet Dust Recipe and Uses

We thought about these too. The catch to us was the cost. Many rabbitteers including us are running their project on a shoestring budget and while flax seed, chia seed and psyllium husk would likely do an admirable job, they are comparatively expensive compared to rolled oats.

    Pellet Dust Recipe and Uses

🤣🤣 Not recommended!!! Here is an equally easy but much less healthy human version: Mum's Chocolate Truffles (caramel centre optional, rolled in coconut not optional in our opinion) Some variation on these can usually be found in our freezer and they were the inspiration for the rabbit edition.

    Pellet Dust Recipe and Uses

We've tried creating bunny biscuits or balls out of pellet crumbs mixed with various 'binder' foods (mashed banana - works the best but makes very expensive treats out of it unless you happen to live in the tropics, cooked apple/pumpkin/any other rabbit safe vegetable mixed - dehydrate the mix...

    Sick rabbit. HELP.

From the active ingredient list it looks like a homeopathic tincture, not an antibiotic - but it's definitely a good homeopathic for a sick rabbit. 👍🏻

    Blind Kit?

Treat that eye with a squirt of saline once a day. One of ours with a gunky eye was milky like that when it finally opened and it cleared up. See thread Baby's eye won't open all the way

    New kits

Marama for a doe - Māori word for light and also the moon. Would fit one of Kaly's kits nicely

    A new rabbit house.

I can't get the pictures to come up big, but - do I see slatted floors there? Bamboo rods a few mm apart so poop drops through??

Baby's eye won't open all the way

A lot of work for a future dinner, but a very good learning curve for us!

Baby's eye won't open all the way

Chamomile is the gentle option, but we've had good results with black tea - more astringent, has tannins etc. A squirt of weak saline into the eye once every 24 hours helps to expel gunk as well.

    As much fat as possible

Try Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. (I was disappointed that he barely mentions rabbit meat!!)

    Kits! Is this normal?

I'm no expert, but I understand apple cider vinegar has a lot of health benefits that white vinegar lacks. You could try making your own? It does take a while though. How to Make Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother from Scraps (not sure how your tropical climate would affect this. It might be...

    Help! Rabbit with flakey nose.

Something similar happened with one of our rexes, consulted an online vet who said it was a staphylococcus florescence which is common in young rabbits whose immune systems haven't settled down and she suggested that we use Betadine on the flaky skin. Tried it and it worked a charm

How long do y'all suggest till rebreeding?

Yes, we're in New Zealand. Thanks, that is very confirming! We were waiting since we weren't sure, nice to know we are doing one thing right at least. Marking day 40 on my calendar now!

How long do y'all suggest till rebreeding?

Thanks very much, that is helpful to two newbie rabbiteers here 😀 One question though. Does it have any effect if the does are living within scent of the buck at all times? It seems that the valves on our two maiden Rex does (8.5 months) don't ever go a darker shade of pink. They live in...
