HELP! Doe had a kit 4 days early... We're in trouble.

You can buy nesting material from pet shop to make a nest for mom. I find that if I do this then my one doe that doesn’t like to kindle until after babes are born and then not much, will take over and kindle properly and make a great nest.

Tell me about chickens in the rabbitry. Pros? Cons?

Hi there. I also have a bunny barn with suspended cages. We have a few laying hens and they are in and out of our bunny barn all day. The have a summer hen house that they live in during the warmer months but free range their yard and they have full access to the bunny barn. In the winter we...

    Lost Litter

I think I may try to move them with mom and then remove mom later. I like this idea. We do offer both bottles and bowl but I am thinking I may have to raise the bowl maybe. Thanks so much for your advice!

    Lost Litter

Thank you so much for this info. I had no idea. This is our 2 nd litter that we moved to grow out. First one we had no issues with. I didn’t find any wounds on the bunnies at all and I really didn’t see any evidence of diarrhea either. All I know for sure is it has been an emotional week and...

Ok well the good news is the barn bunnies are well. We now have an idea as to the cause and we can watch out for it. Just shocking that flies have caused this. Thank you for your assistance.

    Lost Litter

Okay folks. I have a bit of a conundrum so I thought maybe someone here may have some insight. I had a completely healthy litter of 8 in a grow out (colony style). They had been in there for about 9 days doing great then all of a sudden in the last 4 days they have all died. None of my...

    What age to dispatch?

I will try that I have a kitchen scale that would work should I be able to get the bunny to stay. Lol

    What age to dispatch?

Wow! I never even thought to weigh them. Lol. I was aiming for 10-12 weeks. How in the world do you weigh them without them hopping away!?!ROFL

Anyone Have Kit Get Paw Stuck & Strangled?

My suspicion is the end of that foot is dead due to lack of blood circulation. But I would say if it hasn’t killed it yet it should be fine. It should just be gimpy but healthy.

Ok great. I had thought we might try the 2x4 method but the choke chain sounds like it might be a bit easier.

What a wonderfully informative site! I really enjoyed reading thru it and it gave me so many ideas! The one thing I have found so far is it seems to be more expensive than we thought and we are beginning to wonder if the investment and work is worth the amount of meat 🍖 in the freezer in the...

Sure thing! 😀 So at first we had them in our old duck hut that has a plexi glass floor in it. Just added bedding. This makes it impossible for them to dig out or critters to get in and makes it really easy to clean. We have a hinged door that opens up into a roofed and fenced in play yard. The...
