Who here allows your bunny to sit on your lap?

I don't think domestic rabbits are as fragile as wild rabbits. Mine live full-time in cages outside, but they LOVE attention. I often take them out to the yard to get some freedom by turns (can't bring more than one unfortunately because they fight LOL) They have no sense of self-preservation...

I tried emailing the addy you gave me & it came back undeliverable. Must have a typo. The question was - do you want your email on the listing or just your website url? Let me know, your listing is live - I"m going to be listing rabbitries by state. Liz

    We lost our whole litter

If your dogs constantly bark, that might be the problem. My rabbits are quite used to dogs & even sit near them when they are in their play area. Not afraid at all! BUT if the dogs come into the rabbitry while I'm handling the rabbits or the kits, they freak out. Since your doe was relatively...

Cat litter boxes make great nest boxes - I've had 10+ lb rabbits use them with no problems. In the winter I hang a towel scrap over the opening, so it stays warmer. Now I have very large, closed boxes, so should be nicer for them. I lost 4 kits last time from them falling out of the regular...

Thank you for such an uplifting response! It's nice to know that my 'ahem' frugal ideas are appreciated. I have seen people spend a ton of money to get set up and you really don't have to. And THANK YOU for ideas on where to find some more containers. I asked at Sam's club & they 'sold' me an...

Ok, I was able to get a referral link for the domain registrar - they are very good, as I mentioned I have used them for YEARS. I used to have a website for my paintings/portraits, but now I only have a personal one for my rabbits. Well, there are still links to some of my paintings, but mostly...

Oh! LOL I did not realize you were trying to sell rabbit websites LOL I thought you set up a website for people to share their rabbits on. So sorry I can delete my post if you want. I'm just all about trying to get everyone started successfully raising their own protein. I got a chance to look...

I am glad you are making a website. I refuse to support Facebook and provide Zuckerberg with more money. He sells all your info as well as your private messaging between other members. Just in case you weren't aware of that. When he started censoring scientific debate that was the last straw for...

    Unbalanced 17 day old kit

Oh forgot to specify. I give fenbendazole orally, and ivermectin I drop on the back of their necks. I try to drop it directly on their skin. I usually give a drop or two extra.

    Unbalanced 17 day old kit

If you are able to get the liquid fenbendazole for goats, the dose is one drop per 2 lb pretty much the same as the liquid 1% ivermectin dosage. BTW I found the fatal dosage for ivermectin LOL it's 250 times recommended dose. So pretty much you can give a an 8 lb rabbit a dose for 2000 lbs and...

Kiln Dried Oak as Nest Box Wood?

Thanks for putting such thought into answering my query! I've made acorn bread (multiple soaks to remove tannins) it makes total sense! I do tend to let my rabbits figure things out, but didn't want to risk it with nest boxes. Also didn't want to do all the work to build from culled oak boards...

Kiln Dried Oak as Nest Box Wood?

I have some kiln dried oak boards that would be handy to use for the nest boxes I need to build. I've seen that fresh oak is not suitable to feed to rabbits because of the high tannin level. Kiln dried should not have high tannin levels ... ? Any thoughts on this? I could line the corners &...

Where can I keep my hutch??

Do you have any posts with pictures of your setup? I have been taking my rabbits out in the yard individually in a small fenced area and feel better about them. I would love to have a set up as you described. More info would be greatly appreciated but I do not want to hijack this thread...

    @#$&@$!! RATS!!! Rat proofing project.

That is an awesome setup! Do the rabbits come back by themselves? That is my fear. I would love to let mine out but I'm afraid I would never see them again. I do have a play area but I take them out one at a time. Anyway not to hijack your post but if you have more info on your Hutch setup can...

    @#$&@$!! RATS!!! Rat proofing project.

I am so sorry! We have rats and snakes but so far they haven't gotten any of the babies as far as I know. I keep my rabbits in dog crates. I have three very large dog crates. Like almost 3 ft by 4 ft. These I have wrapped in half inch hardware cloth and they are my nursery cages. When the...

    Side Entry Nest Box

I agree! I have shelves in all my rabbit cages. The cages are tall enough for them to really stretch their backs, and have shelves for them to get off the wire. Oddly the bucks keep everything much cleaner than the does do. Many cages have multiple levels of shelves and they love it. However it...

    Side Entry Nest Box

SIZE? I didn't measure my existing boxes, but standard seems to be 20"x11"x10" which works fine for them. Does are about 20"+ long (pic in above post) However, since they will be completely covered, I think it would have to be quite a bit larger .... Plus, do they sit up while giving birth...

    Side Entry Nest Box

That is SUPER! Thank you for posting photos! Are yours covered? I need them to have a lid, so will add one. I know my does will love it! I think it will also help keep mosquitos out in the warmer months. (The lid is needed because of the 2nd floor which drops poop down on everything below LOL)...
