Are they a little higher strong/mean than some other breeds? I have a Lop doe and a Cali buck that have very decent temperment....but the young buck and doe NZ I have had less than 2 months seem aggressive to mean. I would not put my hand in without a glove. I try to hold them and pet...

Was watching Bizarre Foods tonight and he was eating chicken or some type of testicle. I have never eaten any kind but it got me thinking about rabbit......anybody ever try it?? I'm always ready to try a new food....but not sure about this idea. Any recipes??

My first thought when I read the post was to "freeze dry" the foot. Put it in the freezer till you forget about it and it will probably be dry and preserved. I have done it with deer feet to make them a shape for a gun rack that would hold a gun.

We are having rabbit noodle soup tonight!! One of my favorite ways!! Just use a chicken soup recipe. Tom E's recipe sounds very good....will have to try that one for sure!!

I am in N. Illinois and wondered what might be the earliest time, to breed a rabbit in the spring, and have a successful litter?? The rabbits are outside in hutchs that are covered on about 3 1/2 sides with plastic. I was thinking of maybe mid Feb. But would like to hear any opinions...

I only have 1 other doe and her litter is a little over 6 weeks old and she is not re-bred. The dead newborn was not small...even maybe big?? I have only 1 buck and he is always in a cage away from the does.

The 2 are doing good and just took the nest box out and today there was a dead newborn baby laying on the wire floor. I'm sure she has not been with a buck since she was bred for the litter of 2. Any ideas??

My smoker is homemade and I have never tried that but some smokers are made to be used that way. I smoke venison and turkey all the time and they are very juiciy and are also lean meats almost like rabbit.

Mine are still doing good...and man are they fat!!!

Was thinking of smoking a rabbit tomorrow but all the reading I have done said they turn out dry. But would still like to try one!! I read one recipe that said to wrap rabbit in bacon. Mine might be in a stew tomorrow.

A lop/cali doe just had a litter of 2 about a week ago. Temps here have been freezing at night. I thought they may not survive the cold but so far so good. The doe is really keeping them covered good. Can I expect them to survive now that they have lived a week?? Or what other concerns may...
