    First-Timer Doe's Pregnancy

Day 22 Right now I am raising Holland lops, but I'm hoping to add a meat/fur breed this year. :) I am really looking forward to this litter (if everything goes well); it has been too long since I have had babies in the house!

    Pictorial rabbit size chart

Change of mind, the new order looks great! I love how the chart looks; this will be a great way to explain the size differences to people!

That is exactly what they look like. :) They are quite cute.

    Pictorial rabbit size chart

I agree, the set up you have right now looks the best proportionately. Also could you add an angora/wool breed?

    Breeding age

It depends on your rabbit. :) Does that answer your question? ;) But no really, it does count on the rabbit. I had a doe that was about 4 months old when I first noticed how dark her vent was getting and how she lifted every time I touched her lower back! I did not breed her at the time because...

    First-Timer Doe's Pregnancy

Day 16 Well, after palpating on both days 13 and 15, I am pretty certain that Mimi is pregnant; I'd be very surprised if she wasn't! Now it will just be waiting to see how she handles a nest and babies... Her mama was a really good mother though, so hopefully she got some of those genetics...

    TEN She had 10

Uh-oh! Don't tempt me! :P I am looking at buying a trio of Silver Fox, Beveren, or possibly some other breed if I can't find those, at the end of the summer. I will keep you in mind! :)

    TEN She had 10

Oh, what beautiful popples! :P If only it wasn't going to take me through mid-summer, at least, to get my rabbitry and extra cages set up! :( Otherwise I'd glady take a few of those off your hands!

Our Beveran doe died Saturday :(

I'm so sorry about your doe dying :( I hope your Beverens start doing better for you!

When/how should I check the kits?

I would check the litter. If your bunny knows you (which she should), she should have absolutely no problems with you taking the nest out and checking on everyone. :) I like to check mine at least once a day and hold each one while the nest is out; both to check on them and also get them used...

    IS THIS NORMAL?

    Litterbox Material

I am not really concerned as long as the odds are against anything going wrong. I trust you guys! :D

    Litterbox Material

I have no idea if my available litter/bedding is pine or not... The pellet bag says that it is meant for wood stoves, and the shavings bag says for livestock & poultry (I got the bags unopened, but used). Does it matter what kind of wood?

    Litterbox Material

Reviving/Recycling an old thread... :) I am planning on trying to litter train one of my rabbits, and I was wondering what kind wood shavings would be acceptable to use as the litter? The litters that I have on hand are wood stove pellets and wood shavings, and I would like to be able use...
