Animal For Sale Great starter package

The females are great healthy mothers. They are very sweet. And the male is always ready to go. He is also very sweet. He greets at the door every time he sees me. They produce blue, and black kits. At 11 weeks the kits average 3-4lbs after processing, 6-7lbs live. As mentioned above I am...

Rabbit sold has died. What happened?

Sounds like heart attack to me. I’m definitely not an expert though. I had a bunny recently that escaped for two night. Finally caught it. One week later I found it dead laying down like it was sleeping. It looked perfectly healthy. I chalked it up to stress and heart attack.

Grow out cage to max 12 week kits

24X30 cages works great for my silver fox grow outs. 8 kits per cage is plenty room till processing time. At 11 weeks it’s pretty crowded so I’d definitely make sure I can process on time.

    Automatic or bottles

I have 7 cages and quickly got tired of using bottles. Mostly due to freezing. Thawing off bottles became a chore so I switched to a 50 gallon drum automatic system. Absolutely love it.

    Dumor Wire Cages

Hello. I too thought about the dumor cages starting out. But I opted to buy wire and build mine. The dumor cages looked good but research found that they aren’t sturdy without a bunch of j-clips and they rust out pretty quick outside. My custom cages didn’t turn out great either but got the job...

    White spot

Hello all. I raise silver fox rabbits. Out of a litter of eight, one kit is all black with a white spot on its nose. And one kit is blue. They are three months old as of now. My question is what would cause the white spot on nose? Is there a such thing as a white silver fox? Could either...

    Hi from central Maryland

You can look up rabbitry farms via online in Md. Depending on what breed you are looking for you shouldn’t have a problem finding bunnies to get you started. I purchased my trio and three young females from one breeder in eastern shore. Then purchased my replacement bucks from a breeder in la...

Help! My doe has kits, not feeding, & sneezing. What to do?

Far as the sneezing it could be just a cold. Specially if it’s only effecting her. I had a doe recently sneeze while I was doing normal feeding chores. She also had a little “snot” on her nose. Research led me to giving her a little oatmeal (Quaker oats). Since giving Oatmeato her I haven't...

    Kits covered in urine

Yes I’m raising silver foxes. I have two bucks, two doe silver fox, and a mix doe. I believe she is mixed with silver fox also.

    Kits covered in urine

Sure. These pictures we’re taking this morning. The kits love that area in the tote. I believe it’s because that’s where momma nested at. I figured the momma would best towards the back of the tote but she nested in the front left corner. Couldn’t understand why she would do that but it makes...

Water Bottles are freezing! How do I stop it?

Nice setup! I’m Definitely contemplating on getting heated water bottles also. But I guess I haven’t gotten tired of thawing off bottles yet. I’ve just been filling bottles with hot water. Seem to last about 6-7 hours before the nipples freeze. Takes a long while after for the water to freeze...

    Kits covered in urine

I haven’t had any problems with chewing the plastic totes as of yet. Hopefully I don’t. On mine I have four inches of tunnel going into the tote. It’s not sealed or trimmed with anything around the inside of the tote. I just made sure I cut the hole slightly smaller than the tunnel diameter that...

    Kits covered in urine

I think the totes work great for cold weather breeding. But think it may be too warm during the heat of the summer using the totes.

    Kits covered in urine

Yes. The Rabbitry Center is where I got it from. The totes are above ground on a shelf I built. I don’t have the land to make a long tunnel to the ground. Don’t think I would go that deep into it if I did. The totes are level with the cage. The “tunnel” is about 15 inches long. 2 inches going...
