Me, good ol beepboop, back again for help from you brilliant and wonderful people lol. I need some help on these sable kits. Dam is sable magpie (can't really tell if she's black or blue) and sire is sable steel agouti. Dam's lineage unknown, but I know sire carries chocolate and dilute. Both are parents in my other posts, I'll try to figure out how to link their pics in a reply.

1. Both kits
2-3 and 7. Lighter kit
4-6. Darker kit

It looks to me like you have a sable and a smoke pearl (dilute sable, which can look more bluish). I can't tell from the photos if the sable is also steeled but it seems like it may be, from the one photo (#407). Alternatively, that could also be the interesting frosting/tipping that sables normally go through; hard to say from one set of photos at one age.

Here's the link to your post with photos of sire and dam:

The thing that puzzles me is that the kit pictures you posted earlier showed white inner ears:

Is this a different kit than what you've pictured in this current post?

Yes, the one from my last post is a sibling of these two, same litter. And these two don't have any typical gouti markings so I thought they were self, I thought self would hide steel? Unless they are self masking steel? lol man I hate steel 🤣 😭

Yes, you're right, they both look self, and yes, they could very well be carrying steel which is unexpressed in a self. Although your sable kit surely looks like a self, and I'd feel close to certain about it, sometimes steel so effectively reduces the agouti markings that they are no longer readily apparent. One of my surprise steels looked like a self black as a newborn, though by the time he was the age of your kits, it was obvious. So even though it looks like normal sable frosting, I hedge my bets.

Your buck may not have had obvious white ear linings as a kit, though he has minimal agouti markings as an adult in this photo. You don't by chance have photos of him as a young bunny?

I only have one picture that I took riiight as he started to squirm out of my hands (I promise I'm not strangling him 🤣) You're right though, he definitely had darker ears and hard to see mouth/eye markings, but his belly was still pretty agouti-looking. We'll see over the coming time how his offspring molt out because assuming they grow at a rate I like I'm probably keeping these two because I'm crazy and I'm a sucker for a pretty color lol.
