Hello~
One of my rabbits has been bad at eating her cecotropes lately and has made a mess of the wire bottom of her cage. Does anyone have any go-to products or tricks to get the mess off? Some of it has gotten pretty hard. I've tried using a wire brush but it's not quite doing the trick.

I'd try soaking it for half an hour or so (removing the bunny of course). You can do this by setting the cage bottom in a tub if you have one big enough, or just put an old towel over it and soak the towel until sopping wet several times.

I have a long handled brush used for washing cars (good because of the long handle and the size of the brush, not because it's for cars :)). Twice a day when I feed I brush the top and the bottom of the wire to remove any poop before it has a chance to dry. Takes 30 seconds per cage and has kept things very clean. If something gets in the corners a 1" or 2" spackling knife duct taped to the other end works well. I haven't had the cecotropes being squished in the wire though, so who knows?
