Help young buck doesn't do his job

We have a new buck. We put an experienced doe in with him and he mounted fairly quickly, stayed on for 30 seconds and then decided he would rather just hang out. Not good. He's our only buck and I know that it's always a risk.
Any advice, please
 
If this is his first time then he probably doesn't know what to do
Try holding the Doe down with her butt out and try to place him on top of her

If he mounted but then withdrew, you might check for injury or anything else unusual about his vent or hindquarters/legs/belly. I've found that bucks that withdraw often have some issue causing discomfort when they mount - injury, infection, or some other cause of pain or discomfort.
 
Doe might be not receptive, did he also stick his nose under her tail to smell her?
He tried, all the bits are there and look normal? Was the doe dominant (mounting him)?
Try again in about 3-5 days. Rabbits have a cycle, it may be the wrong time and that is why he quit.
Here if my bucks try they will get there provided doe is in fertile fase. One buck i kept from a litter that didn't do anything with doe in the pen (other than barely 2 seconds nose to nose and a ok, i have a roommate now) was cryptorchid and ended up in the freezer. Now i do observe closely the first 10-15 minutes or so, because a doe may mount the buck and scare him of trying anything or keep racing around till overheating/exhaustion. Neither is good for either of them. I may put a hand over the does eyes to keep her in place if she gets to crazy, but if she doesn't lift that is that.
 
Buck is near 7 months old. Experienced doe that knows what to do and doesn't attack. I'll try a different experienced doe.
 
He may have a type, and she's just not attractive to him. I have a buck that has finally caught on, and will do the deed just to make the human take her away. When he started, he was only enthusiastic about one doe. We eventually made it work by the attractive one visiting but not allowed to mount, then putting in the doe we want. Once he was riled up, he was willing to work with anyone.
