Could someone please point me in the direction of the thread that had natural ways to help make a doe receptive? I searched and can’t find it.

Also, this doe that was not at all receptive, after some time, the buck finally got one fall off. What is the time frame, like number of hours, to try again in before it’s too risky of having litters in different horns of the uterus? Or should we just wait the 30 days? She had zero interest, so I don’t have high hopes shes pregnant. 😢 Funny, because last time she was super receptive and the other duo wasn’t, and this time it was reverse.

Next time I will have to make sure I give them what will make them receptive the days prior. I was just so busy I never thought of it this time.

It could just be timing. There are 2 days out of 16 where they may not be receptive - I am not sure of the correct way to say it but the eggs are being replenished. You can try checking her vulva - best to be nice and pink and what I think of as floofy where it kind of splays out. Very light or almost purple and she may be in the very short coming in or going out. They don't come into heat like dogs, they ovulate in response to being bred but still there are those couple of days. I have heard that a car ride can make them more receptive. If the buck did get a fall off, I personally would wait the, for me, 40 days though if she has had a litter before then you can go by that, how many days, and add a few for certainty. Litters have been born at day 39 which is why I said 40. I have also heard a little ACV in their water pre breeding (sorry, typing as it comes to me). I have tried breeding AM and PM or one day and the next day but I didn't like it. The does seemed frantic to me on the second breeding but you may want to test it yourself. I wouldn't personally go past 24 hrs for a second breeding.

Thank you. This is helpful.
I think we will just wait and cross our fingers. Since this is the first time breeding after the heat of summer though, so it’s been a little while, and she wasn’t receptive, I’m not holding my breath. LOL Just disappointing if shes not pregnant because shes my one that has bigger litters, number of kits and size of rabbit at butcher.

I hear you! My first "batch" is coming up Sept 16 and I am so hoping for at least 3 out of the 5 does to have litters. One is my best consistent doe, two are second time who did good the first, one has had two "failed" litters (blaming the heat, she didn't do anything wrong), one is maybe on her way out. Once I see how many kindle, then I will plan my next breeding. I hope this is the year I can make a consistent breeding schedule with half one month and half the next while still having enough cages for growouts. It's a journey!
