not really - if the doe only has a few it seems large but when a doe has 8, the box is rather crowded by the 3rd week. I do have some smaller ones that the does use fine but they seem to like the extra room of the larger ones.

I use a large next box / standard size next box (size used for most commercial rabbits - New Zealand types) usually about 10" wide by 18-20 inches long and about 10 inches tall in the back.

I like mini lops because you just never know what colors you might get! personally I like chinchilla and silver tipped steel the most. I like broken orange too, makes a pretty bunny.

I don't see any problem with getting rabbits from a farm/ranch store if that's where you can purchase them. Realize that those rabbits are probably being bred by someone who just breeds for pet quality animals OR a breeder who is selling their culls (again pet quality animals) - so would they...
