    The perfect barn/hutch

We have wooden slat floors like that. Yes, they get chewed on a bit and occasionally need some R&M, replacement slats etc. Not as much urine staining as you might think but yes some. Way easier to keep clean than a flat floor and far cheaper than heavy wire.

    Interesting kit colour - help?

Yessss such a colourful little litter. This is the first rex litter we've had with no REW, quite an event!!

    Interesting kit colour - help?

Thank you Alaska Satin!!! Glad I was on the right track with the one in back, and thanks for the correction on the name of the colour. Yes, that little sable frosty Holland is not unlike our wee kit, and the self chin buck has to be carrying one e, so we'll go with sable frosty for now and...

    Interesting kit colour - help?

I had so much trouble even getting that message to post, I'm not surprised! Let's try again... We've had plenty of frosties in past litters, and none of them have looked like this. I'm wondering if the back one might be aa B_ cchl_ dd E_ and the front might be Aa B_ cchl_ dd E_? (Clearly I'd...

    Interesting kit colour - help?

We have a litter of 7 Standard Rex, and the colours of two of them have us a little stumped! The mother of this litter is the sable chinchilla featured in this post https://rabbittalk.com/threads/chinchilla-rex-at-last.36724/, and the father is a black self chinchilla. This is the first...

HELP! Baby rabbit has an eye disease, need your input.

We had something very similar a while ago, you can find our notes here: https://rabbittalk.com/threads/babys-eye-wont-open-all-the-way.35585/post-346044 For now, gently clean the white fluid away and squirt with saline. If you can nurse the baby through, I'm sure it will be delicious, but...

Ringworm?? (caution: pictures of sick rabbit)

Good news, another breeder in the area kindly gave us about 30ml of Panacur and we have dosed her. Fingers crossed! She's gobbled down Critical Care, water, hay, dandelion greens and herbs though less interested in pellets than before, however is looking a bit brighter eyed and acting perky...

Ringworm?? (caution: pictures of sick rabbit)

Safeguard isn't available in NZ. We can get Panacur 100 but only in a 1L bottle for $150 (USD $100). We have considered buying a 1L and decanting it into smaller bottles and selling 900ml previously; maybe we'd better do that. The only other option is in a horse wormer paste along with...

Ringworm?? (caution: pictures of sick rabbit)

She would have the greatest fun unravelling a sweater, but we did consider a recovery suit. We'll try the sock idea first.

Ringworm?? (caution: pictures of sick rabbit)

No, we're not sure! However it definitely started in rings, which were treated and nearly healed when it suddenly went into a second larger, non-ringed outbreak per the pictures. OK, we'll give the sock idea a go. She's a serial cleaner so may or may not work.

Ringworm?? (caution: pictures of sick rabbit)

Urgently need help here... @Alaska Satin @judymac @ladysown @eco2pia and any other resident experts!! This doe is booked in with the vet but no appointment available until Wednesday. She has now started nibbling her shoulders raw... Literally chewing off unaffected skin since she can't get her...

Mckatie, do you have to keep the rabbits in harness when you visit assisted living residents, or are they permitted to roam?

Ringworm?? (caution: pictures of sick rabbit)

Hello, One of our black Rex does developed what we thought was ringworm two weeks ago, and treated it with clotrimazole. It started in a ring of bare skin with fur in the middle on the back of her neck, then a second circle developed, then a patch at the base of an ear. At this point we...
