We did get 1 set of babies back in February, but more importantly I have 2 litters due today! No idea if one of the does took, but we're crossing our fingers here! :D And I really like the idea of your new pen solution... if you have time to take a picture, mind sharing? :mrgreen:

Yup, same here! In my experience, most breeders provide fresh hay for the does to build their nest with. This helps by insulating the nest further, as a cardboard box by itself won't do much but keep the kits contained. And if I expected my does to fill a next box entirely with their own fur...

I've been researching chickens for years now, I think I can be patient for another 3-5. ;) :lol: Maybe I'll just start off with a few Eager Eggers and a Welsummer in the next year or two, that way when your line is established I'll be looking for some fresh birds to replace older layers...
