Sounds like it went well. If the cages are setup like shown in first pictures, you may end up with some oops litters from breeding thru the wire. You might want to move them further apart. I've seen 2-4 inches in posts before.

Make a wire mesh pan that sits on top of the tray under the cages. The urine will fall thru to the pan and the droppings will be caught in the tray. Maybe 1/4" spacing on the wire mesh?
