Pregnant Bun day 32 no babies

Absolutely. Every single one of our does hasn't pulled fur until right before giving birth.

    Healthy litter!

After one doe lost her whole litter, we needed a win. Thankfully our little doe, Peach, had a successful first litter last week! 6 perfectly plump little ones, and she's taking great care of them! Hooray!

    problems with purina?

We've been using Purina rabbit complete for our rabbits because that's what they were fed when we bought them and we've just continued. Has anyone had issues with it? I don't know that it's causing our issues, but wondering because we've seen people talk about purina's chicken feed causing...

    Lost a litter

I checked my logs last night and realized that the babies were early. So that may be why they died. We're keeping the box in for now just in case there was a double pregnancy. I would be surprised since we didn't put her back in with the buck at a later date once there was successful breeding...

    Lost a litter

Also, we have a first time mom due any day. If she has a big litter, would it be worth trying to move some of the babies to the mom who's babies died? Or assume that she doesn't have milk for them?

    Lost a litter

I've read about losing a whole litter, but when it happens to you the first time it feels devastating! I don't know what happened. This mama has had two successful kindlings and been great. I went out for evening feeding and saw she had pulled hair so I thought she would throw her kits tonight...

    Breeding challenges

Ok that makes me feel a lot better. I was afraid something was really wrong with him! I agree with you about the snuffles. It does often look like thick white stuff from his nose, but I haven't wiped it off to see. We decided not to do the vet because of cost. I will try the vetRX and see if...

    Breeding challenges

I have examined (as best as I can by myself) our buck. His vent looks fine and so does the tube. The area on either side of the penus is where his urethra is, yes? One side was kinda crusty and both sides looked like there was either tiny pieces of poop or dried blood. Is any of that normal?

    Breeding challenges

I will look into the vet Rx and give that a try! The mucus coming out sometimes does look white, but he's a white rabbit so I am not 100% sure. We don't give hay yet, so it's not that. Ok so if I'm looking at him, how will I tell if he has a split penus or a problem with his vent? Will it look...

    Breeding challenges

Hmm. I haven't checked his belly. I can give him a better examination tomorrow. We've been trying to breed them over the course of 3 months or so. So it's not just that he suddenly isn't into it. The very first time we put a doe in with him, he did his thing right away, fell off and then...

    Breeding challenges

I don't Know the weight of the young buck but he's much smaller than our older does. Can a buck who's smaller get the job done? My husband put him in with our young doe (they're the same size) tonight and apparently he tried his darndest and she would not lift for him. The older does have not...

    Breeding challenges

Alright I have read through tons of posts, old and new, about things to try with difficult breeders. Isn't it supposed to be easy to breed rabbits? Isn't there a saying, "multiply like rabbits?" Sigh. So we are still new to this, we got our first rabbits in July. We started with 2 does and a...

    Foot injury

Thanks all for the advice! (I had seen these but hadn't replied because I'm a busy mama!) I had been concerned if I put something on his leg like ointment or wrappings that he would chew it up. The babies have bitten my rain boots and pulled a small chunk out of them! I took a lazy way out to...

    Foot injury

How do I clean it? I squirted some saline on it. I'm not sure this guy is going to let me do much more. He's a kicker.

    Foot injury

Ok I need help again. 🤦🏼‍♀️ One of my buns has this large, bleeding lump on his hind foot. I'm assuming it got a cut and infected before we knew about the cut. How do I treat this? I've separated him from the rest of the litter while they are out grazing since he's gotten blood on their backs...
