I'm from South Africa, so your situation may very well be different, but you could at least look it up. When I have kits that won't sell I take them to petting zoos/touch farms. They don't pay me for them but they're usually happy to take them on and it gives the kits a home, and I don't have to...
Well if the other buck is solid(not broken) than any broken kit is definitely offspring of the broken buck. Solid kits could be from either buck.
Albino(red-eyed white) is a recessive gene which means both the broken buck and the blue-eyed black doe carry it if they produce REW kits.
It's definitely possible, particularly in rabbits.
If the bucks are different colors you may be able to guess whose kits are whose and if indeed some are the second buck's kits.
I bred my Vienna sable point doe to my REW buck in the hopes that she would carry c and produce REWs. That didn't happen(6 dark colored kits), so since she's a sable point I assumed she was just cchlcchl and all of the kits would be cchlc and be siamese sable.
But the kits are three weeks old...
So I have a new Angora-furred doe. As a kit she appeared black but as she developed I noticed her undercoat is pure white. it gives her a grayish appearance.
I'm not sure how to describe her coat texture, it's very soft but jersey woolly length.
Would this be considered a snowball or is that...
So I’m staying with my cousins in the USA and noticed their Holland Lop has ear mites. Where is the best place to find ivomec in the US? Is that still the best treatment option? And what is the dosage per pound?
Thanks.
Neither me nor any of my siblings wash our hands after handling our rabbits, unless we’re doing something afterwards that necessitates hand washing anyway.
However, we do wash after handling rabbits we don’t own, just to minimize risks for us and our own rabbits.
As far as I know, the genes are the same. L is short furred and is dominant over l, long furred. A rabbit with Ll genes is therefore short furred.
The only difference between the length of a Jersey Woolly's fur and an Angora's fur would be other modifiers, I believe. A long-coated JW crossed...
My only Rex doe had stopped eating, I treated her for parasites, and nothing seemed to help, took her to the vet to find out she had a massive dental abscess. She had 4 molar teeth pulled and they had to drain it from the underside. She's on a course of Baytril now which I inject every morning...
It's possible she's not pregnant. If my does miss and I can't tell if they're pregnant, and I put a nest box in, they'll still build a nest when they're supposed to, maybe because every time they get a box that's what they need to do so they do it even if they're not pregnant. I usually give...
The best method I have found is to freeze water in soda pop bottles or milk jugs. Put those in the cage and the buns will lie up against them to stay cool.
If they seem to be over heating you can spray the ears with lukewarm(not cold) water. The blood vessels in the ears are near to the...
Does can be very picky about weather, mine are never in a good mood on overcast days.
They also prefer early morning, or evening(dusk).
Sometimes breeding in a neutral area instead of the buck's can helps.
Try supplementing the doe's diet with spinach. A lack of vitamin A(and one other vitamin...
