First time butchering yesterday. What to do with heads, ears, feet, tails, etc?

There are tons recipes online for liver pate. Any recipe using chicken liver translation beautifully to rabbit livers. In more recent months, I've been adding the livers to various soups I make, having grown weary of pate!

Animal For Sale Newly Listed Silver Foxes for Sale

Yes, it was. My original trio was underweight and other issues keeping them from the SOP, so I've worked hard to get the herd to where it is today. :-)

Time needed between butchering and cooking?

Thank you, everyone. I'm going to give it a try, going straight to cooking. The reason I posed the question was just the sheer fact of butchering so many at one time. It takes hours and I get pretty tired after standing for so long, etc. I'm searching for a way to have my rabbits and eat them...

Time needed between butchering and cooking?

As a kid, I recall a friend of mine having to go home before mom got home for work because she, my friend, was tasked with butchering a rabbit for that evening's meal. I have never butchered from life anything until I started raising rabbits a few years ago. However, all that I have read talks...

    EXTUDED FEED VS PELLET FEED

Yes, this is what I am finding! No need for as much pellets and $$ savings in feed. I do make sure all of my breeders always have grass hay so they have something to nibble on when they run out of pellets. Not the grow-outs, tho. I consider grass hay (any hay other than alfalfa) as diet food, so...

I Screwed Up and Need Help, Now.

All fantastic advice. I am just going to add that you should bite the bullet and get him weighed. Then, I would weigh him daily (if at all possible) for at least a week to keep an eye on him to know he is responding well and to know for sure it was a human induced issue and not another health...

    Butchering age

Alaska Satin's answer is spot on. As for weights, dispatching, etc., I think breed plays a huge role in when to dispatch. I am assuming you have a "commercial" breed. Commercial just refers to those rabbits with the meat body type. I raise Silver Fox, which is a commercial breed. When I first...

    EXTUDED FEED VS PELLET FEED

I switched to Home Fresh (extruded) Hutch Deluxe 17% last November. To begin, you still get a full 50 pounds when you buy a 50-pound bag. I used to feed Manna Pro Pro (16%) and Manna Pro Gro (18%). I always transfer my feed from the bags to food grade lidded 5-gallon buckets from Tractor Supply...
