    Sneezing rabbits?

Update: today was a really nice day outside, so I decided to open up all of my doors and windows and let my rabbitry get a ton of fresh air, and I’m already noticing a significant decrease in sneezing- I only saw two sneeze today, opposed to the five I saw yesterday.

    Sneezing rabbits?

They’re in a nice, big barn- the rabbitry itself takes up about 70ft of space in a 300ft barn, so ventilation is usually pretty good, even with the door shut.

    Sneezing rabbits?

That’s actually a good point… I just looked at the weather and the humidity in my area for the past two weeks, when I really started to notice it flare up, and the humidity has not dipped below 50% since. It’s also been constantly raining/snowing on and off. Another thing I noticed is that it...

    Sneezing rabbits?

In the past two weeks, my rabbits have begun sneezing for no apparent reason- their noses are clear, their paws are fluffy and clean, they don’t have difficulty breathing, there’s no discharge in their eyes, and their butts look clean and healthy. Their stool is perfectly round and firm, and is...

Can an albino produce a blue eyed kit

It’s definitely possible, especially if one or both parents are carrying the Vienna gene.

Who here is active in the ARBA?

I would consider myself a fairly active ARBA member, and I show competitively at sanctioned shows with my rabbits

    New Zealand color crossing rules

REWs (red eyed whites) actually have a base color- but the rew gene hides the color and the appearance is white. rewxrew will always produce rew, but rew x a different color can reveal what color the white is carrying.

    New Zealand color crossing rules

Blue can breed to white- there’s nothing wrong with that. (Depending on the doe’s hidden color), you should at least get blues and whites in that litter.

    Time of day for breeding?

Unless it’s hot out, I find that time of the day doesn’t usually seem to matter to me.

    Where to keep kits

I usually divide up my litters by colors/growth, so I usually put 2-3 per 24x30” cage

    Meat kit may be pregnant

Flemishs are pretty slow growers, so you should be good if you separate them soon

    Meat kit may be pregnant

I would probably separate them asap- depending on what breed they are, they probably haven’t reached sexual maturity quite yet, so you should be good

Hi I’m new here and trying to learn all I am about rabbits

Welcome to the group! What breed(s) are your rabbits?

How old is too old to breed for the first time?

I think you might be able to get away with 18 months, but possibly prepare for the litter to be either really big or really small. (That’s my experience with breeding older rabbits, with about 12 months being the oldest) I definitely would not breed a rabbit for the first time that’s over 3...
