    Just wondering

Keep us posted! That would be crazy to get kits out of all 4 bucks! I had a litter that I put 2 bucks in with the female, but I think my otter Rex was still trying to figure things out then. He’s gotten a lot better, but I do have some very dominant does that still give him a run for his money...

    Just wondering

Awesome! I’m going to have to try it out. I’m just breeding for fun and to see what comes out, all while putting food on the table. Starting to keep the best and eat the rest. This should be fun.

    Oh what fun!!

My rabbits eat a lot of new things. I give them whatever I can as a snack/treat other than pellets. Just about every day they are getting something, either some weeds from the yard or something from the kitchen, it has kind of been my way of trying to make them more friendly as well. Luckily...

    Just wondering

Thanks. That’s what I was kind of going for. Now, since there is multiple eggs, and I was assume both the most viable sperm from both males would fertilize the eggs, is there a way that you could get litters that have 2 different fathers? I.e. out of a litter of 8, 4 kits from buck A and 4...

    Just wondering

I have heard that it is better to breed a doe to 2 males in the same day? Something to do the males competing? Is there any truth to this? Also, if there is, could a female have kits from 2 different males in the same litter? Sorry if this seems like a silly question. Just got me thinking.

    Questions?

Awesome! My wife really wanted grey one! Not sure if that is sable or not? We got a REW and a black female and a greyish buck. Unfortunately, the buck passed the following day after we got him home and only have the 2 does. My wife was really upset. I think they may have been litter mates, so...

    Questions?

Just got into rabbit breeding, just for fun, nothing serious or showing. We had a doe that was bred to a Rex buck but also to another buck on the same day. I will post pictures below. Anyways, have the litter came out looking like the other buck, but half the litter seems to me like it may be...

    Oh what fun!!

So I found some garlic chives at my parents house that I didn’t know they were growing! Brought home a few stalks......aaaaaand.........NONE of my rabbits would touch them! Any ideas to help? They don’t seems to be picky eaters about anything else. Also, I have a sneaky feeling that...

    Oh what fun!!

Thanks! I will have to try and grow them. You mentioned it on another post, and I looked for some, but couldn’t find any. How much do you feed and how often? I currently have 17 bunnies. This is getting a little excessive, please don’t judge me! 6 adults, 5 weaned or almost weaned, and 6...

    Oh what fun!!

Haven’t been able to update in awhile. We lost 2 of the 7 kits we had from the 2 litters that I combined when they started to come out of the box and eat real food? Is that apart of the weaning enternitis? (Sorry if it’s misspelled) They had their head back and we’re pretty stiff when I went...

    Is this safe? Pictures!

The disease I was referring to is tularemia. It’s pretty rare, but with my rabbits being in a colony on the ground, figures I would check it out. Better safe than sorry

    Is this safe? Pictures!

Unfortunately, when I saw it, I discarded everything. This being my 3 cull, I wasn’t taking any chances. I remember reading about the disease that is transferable to humans having white spots on the liver as well if I remember correctly. Anyways, I’ll know for the future. I don’t keep any...

    Is this safe? Pictures!

Found this in a rabbit I was butchering. Is this safe? Also, she just had kits, what’s the likelihood that they have it? Also, I fostered her kits out (she’s a terrible mom, hence the reason she got butchered, what’s the likelihood that they pass it on. I think I may have just thrown an...

    Improving a does litter size

Thanks! I think I will keep this one doe in particular, due to her being a great mom! She has a litter of three and all did well, than had a surprise litter about 21ish days later of 4. I had a doe with another litter of three 2 days before and they weren't gaining any weight, so now she has all...

    Improving a does litter size

That’s a pretty good idea! Didn’t think along those lines. I have a male that’s pretty good, and a male that 1) just can’t seem to quite figure it out and 2) seems to produce blood every time he mounts a doe. I would love to figure out what his problem is, because he is an otter Rex and I love...
