    Pellet Change Advice

Ok, thanks. The best by date on the bag of Oxbow is 2021! Really!?!? I guess I'm going to have to figure out somewhere else to store the pellets. I have them off to the side in the kitchen but I guess it gets too warm with the wood cookstove. They are a ways away but... I'll find somewhere...

    Pellet Change Advice

That's a good idea, thanks! I don't think it's low calorie. It has the same ingredients as the Small Pet, just listed in a slightly different order. Do pellets have a smell? The Small Pet just has a slight hay-ish smell but the Oxbow has a stronger 'tangy' smell... has it spoiled?!?

    Pellet Change Advice

I've been trying for about a month to slowly change my rabbits pellets from Small Pet Select to Oxbow Essentials. He just picks out the Small Pet Pellets and leaves the Oxbow. He's eating fine otherwise, just being fussy. Does anyone have any advice?

    Moving a Bun for Winter

I hope this is the right place for this... for those of you who move your outdoor rabbits for winter, do you move them cage and all? Would it upset a rabbit to be moved to new 'digs' for the winter? I have a rabbit in an outdoor hutch that I'd like to move to an enclosed porch for winter. The...

    Maples?

MaggieJ I do have a small garden but wasn't able to do much with it this year due to back problems :( I have a small 'lawn' so I have dandelions, which he loves, and some plantain but that always seems to be devoured by tiny black beetles and other bugs. I guess everyone likes it! akane I have...

    Maples?

Thank you akane. My problem with ID'ing is that the plants in my yard never seem to look quite like the ones in the pictures online. :?

    Maples?

Thanks for the responses :) I have googled them and all I've found is Red Maple is toxic to horses, reptiles and amphibians, but not to cats and dogs. I also found a site that mentioned most wild animals ( including rabbits) enjoy Striped Maple buds in the spring. Nothing definate. I do know...

    Maples?

I know rabbits can have the leaves and branches of Sugar Maple-acer saccharum but does anyone know if they can have leaves and branches of Striped (or Goosefoot) Maple-acer pensylvanicum and Red Maple-acer rubrum?

    Should I Be Worried?

My 3 yr old bun Roo started yesterday to hold up his right front paw. There's no other signs of injury. No sores, blood or swelling. He'll put weight on it, maybe limping a tiny bit but not sure as it's not really obvious. I let him out in his run today and he hopped around but didn't dig at...

    A Little Advice About Poop?

Roo has had dandelion (he LOVES them) and other wild greens before, they've just been buried under 3-4 feet of snow for the last 6 months! Now that things are starting to grow again he'll be getting more of those instead of the store bought stuff. It will be a slow process, the leaves aren't out...

    A Little Advice About Poop?

So, for the past week or two Roo seems to be pooping less and they are a bit smaller. I was starting to switch his food (slowly) so I thought that was it and started to switch him back (again very slowly). He's eating fine, acting like his usual goofy self :bunnyhop: and he IS pooping, just...

    Bunny 'Playpen' Advice

SableSteel, I love that picture! I'm not too worried about him trying to escape, he'll be well supervised. I think I'll go with 4' welded wire, but I still need to decide where it will go and how big it will be. Thanks for the advise everyone.

    Bunny 'Playpen' Advice

I have a single (very spoiled :) ) pet rabbit and I'd like to build him an outdoor exercise yard. He would only be out in nice weather, during the day and he would be supervised. If he was left unsupervised it would only be for 5-10 mins max at a time, after I got used to him being out there...

    Romaine Lettuce

Oops sorry! Yeah, E. coli. The head I have just has a twist tie... nothing to say where its from. I suppose I could call the store... I only buy it for the rabbit, I don't eat lettuce myself

    Romaine Lettuce

Wasn't quiet sure where to put this... sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was wondering what everyone thinks of the CDC telling everyone to throw out their Romaine lettuce. I only have one rabbit and I give him Romaine in the winter, along with some other things. The article says it lettuce...
